Nature vs Nurture
There once was a boy who was energetic as a young child, subdued as a teenager. He because increasingly troubled as his family life broke down. His mother and father divorced, and his violent fantasies grew. He committed his first act of murder just after he graduated from high school. For the next thirteen years, this man lured other young men to his home where he killed them and mutilated their corpses. In total he killed 17 men. His name was Jeffery Dahmer. Dahmer is an extreme case of deviancy, but the question arises. What made Jeffery Dahmer behave this way? Was he just born with the predisposition to be a serial killer or did his social circumstances lead to his actions?

Mindful Words
Today I was at my Dad's church for service. Lots of things happened, that I don't really feel the need to go into, but one of the things done during the service was filling out this pledge with our names. This pledge said "_________________ promises to continually learn and seek to inspire others in Christ," or something to that effect. I look at this sheet of paper that sorta looks like an award from elementary or middle school with a large blank where we are meant to write our names. I, as a genderfluid individual, have two names: the name I choose to go by and the name I was given.

He Loves Her; He Loves Her Not
Her name was Maria and she was a good sister. She was a strong person who could do anything she ever wanted to do if she put her mind to it and pushed herself. There's a song from an old musical that goes "How do you solve a problem life Maria?" That song was a good fit for her, in most ways. She was stubborn and refused to let anyone tell her what was and wasn't possible. She smiled often and laughed loudly. She sung like her life depended on it and never took no for an answer. She dreamed big and her family knew she could do it. She had never been in love before. She was 17 and on her way up, but that was before him.

They Will Know
Glancing around my office, I was shocked I had come so far. A man with my background rarely got this high on the world social ladder. Of, course if anyone found out about my real life, I'd be out of this nice, big, well furnished office and back in an apartment on the wrong side of town. My secretary knocked on my door.
