Time marches on
In the years that a time capsule sits buried in the ground, a lot is taking place above the earth. The encapsulated materials might be forgotten until the date arrives when they are to be viewed but life is going on nonetheless. This Haiku offers a different way of processing the passing of time until the capsule is opened.

A capsule relegated to time
Tic Toc The Steve Miller Band song Fly Like an Eagle tells us that Time keeps on slipping slipping slipping into the future. And he did not lie. The idea of a time capsule placed in the earth in 1973 that will be opened in 2023, 50 years later is amazing. The contents have remained intact and encapsulated until the day of the unveiling. Life and time have marched on but whatever is inside is unscathed by life happening above ground. With each tick of the tock the old-fashioned hands on a clock moved along through seconds, minutes, hours, days months years, and decades until the moment of unveiling is at hand. This Haiku sums up the time capsule experience.

Hourglass methodology
This Haiku reflects upon how fleeting life can be and is a play on the opening monologue from the NBC/Peacock soap opera Days of Our Lives. From the age of 12 I began watching with my great-grandmother and each weekday afternoon I saw the hourglass appear on the television screen and heard the voice of Macdonald Carey who portrayed Dr.Tom Horton. For decades even after his death, those who tuned in would hear" "Like sands through the hourglass,s o are the days of our lives".

Glorious
This image was taken a few years ago as my grandchildren and I were walking through a local park. We had just come out of a wooded area and the sun was shining so brightly I decided to take a picture and this is what I got. I closed my eyes and aimed directly at the sun and I have no idea why the photo came out this way. All I can say is that it is very unusual.

The truth is out that Willow is Nina's daughter but Ms. Reeves did not save her life. Now there is no reason for anyone to feel beholden to Nina and fans wonder what the writers are up to with this twist after months of speculation that Willow's birth mom will save her life.
