A Haiku that takes a look at life as a grain of sand

This Haiku reflects upon how fleeting life can be and is a play on the opening monologue from the NBC/Peacock soap opera Days of Our Lives. From the age of 12 I began watching with my great-grandmother and each weekday afternoon I saw the hourglass appear on the television screen and heard the voice of Macdonald Carey who portrayed Dr.Tom Horton. For decades even after his death, those who tuned in would hear" "Like sands through the hourglass,s o are the days of our lives".

These words have come to me many times over the decades and are a reminder that life is short and time is always moving on. So this is:

Hourglass Methodology

Sands through the hourglass

So are the days of each life

One grain at a time
