My Review of 'Paddington 2'
Paddington 2 came out last year and quite honestly, I didn't expect a sequel to Paddington. The first movie was a surprise hit. I was one of the doubters thinking that it wouldn't succeed, but after I watched it, I understood why it did so well. It was a self contained origin story of Paddington the bear. It had tons of heart, charisma, and joy spread throughout the movie. I didn't think that they'd be able to capture the spirit of the first movie because the first movie had such a sense of innocence that pulled in the audience.

My Review of 'Shazam'
Shazam is an interesting take on the comic book movie genre. I know I was really excited about it when I first saw a trailer of the movie last year. It seemed like DC was going into a totally different direction of where they had been going with the dark Justice League series. The trailer looked campy and fun and the movie, for the most part, lived up to the high expectations.

My Review of "Wonder"
I didn't really hear much about the movie, Wonder, when it first came out. I guess it's a lower budget movie with little money for advertising. There was barely any press, so it kind of slipped under the radar for me. Watching this movie blind was kind of refreshing, because I let the movie tell me what it's about and not have my own preconceived notion of how it will play out.

My Review of 'Upgrade'
Upgrade is a movie that's been talked about by a lot of reviewers last year. They were ranting and raving about how this movie was the sci-fi movie of 2018. I didn't hear much about it because it's an independent low budget movie so they didn't have too much advertising for it. Sometimes word of mouth works in the industry. Eventually I caught wind of the reviews and I finally got a chance to check it out.

My Review of 'The Equalizer 2'
Let's start off by letting you all know that I liked the first Equalizer movie. It was a fun movie that had a pretty cool premise. It was about an ex military guy that went into hiding in a low income neighborhood. He took a liking to people in the neighborhood, so whenever anyone messed around with his new friends in the neighborhood, he took vengeance into his own hands. It was fun, and I loved it.

My Review of 'Love, Simon'
I heard a lot about Love, Simon last year, but never got the chance to watch it. It's been available for purchase and streaming for quite some time, but now I finally got the chance to watch it. After watching it, I don't see the huge deal about this movie. It's basically a typical teen movie. I've seen a ton of teen movies and generally I enjoy them because of the innocence that comes with watching the main character's mistakes and relatable situations. This one is a little different because I've never had to go through the same ordeals as the main character, Simon.

My Review of 'Us'
Like everyone out there that's seen the movie Get Out, I highly anticipated Jordan Peele's second horror movie outing. To be honest, I didn't really expect another one to be created so soon. I thought maybe he'd want to dabble with other movie genres or do something different.

My Biased Review of the 2016 Ford Focus SE
I needed to get a car a few months ago, and I have to admit I'm a lousy car shopper. I rarely shop around, and I barely bargain with the dealer when I get there. When car dealers see me come in they probably think to themselves, "whoa here's a whale ready to be harpooned." When I bought the Ford Focus from the dealer it wasn't any different.

My Review of 'Kindergarten Cop'
Kindergarten Cop was recently added to Netflix and my girlfriend and I were looking for something to watch. Not too long ago we watched some of her old favorites, and I know she likes family-friendly movies, so I suggested Kindergarten Cop. I remembered liking it back in the day and it's time for me to show her some of the family fun movies that I liked in the past. It's probably been over a decade since I've seen the movie and she hasn't seen it ever. What a good recipe for a review.

My Review of 'The Dirt'
There's been this huge surge of biographies of famous bands and singers lately. Last year's Bohemian Rhapsody even won awards. There's a few more coming down the pipeline. I guess Netflix saw this trend starting to pop off so they created their own called The Dirt.

Asking Someone About Their Ancestry
I recently had a conversation with a friend that had come back to Canada from working overseas. I had asked him what are some differences that he noticed when he came back to Canada after being away from the country so long. He replied that Canadians are too sensitive when it comes to asking about our backgrounds, especially when they look foreign. I looked back in curiosity. Please elaborate for me.
