My Review of "Snatchers"
Snatchers came out quietly in 2019. I never heard of this movie until it started streaming recently. It's too bad because it's actually a half decent movie that I think would have done fairly well if it had more marketing. There's some interesting messages that come into play that they twisted to make a bit of a horror movie and you can tell they had a ton of fun doing it on the set.

Capitalism and Our Eating Habits
We all know that we live in a capitalist society. When we think of capitalism we usually think money but there's more to the concept than money. The key element of the meaning of the word is the key to why we all overeat. It's also the reason why we sometimes eat so horribly. A lot of us can't really help it. We're drawn to food like a drug but maybe it's because of the way we're brought up. Now that we know more about our motivations, it's time to change some of our thought processes.

My Review of "John Wick: Chapter 2"
John Wick: Chapter 2 came out back in 2017. It was a bit of a surprise that it came out but it wasn't at the same time. I don't think the movie studio expected the first movie to do quite as well as it did because this movie took 3 years to come out after the first. Still the first one ended off pretty open ended and warranted a sequel. We just never thought it would actually come out.

My Review of "John Wick"
John Wick came out in 2014 and I have bought a number of versions of this movie. I first watched this movie on DVD but then I bought the movie on Blu-ray because I loved the step up in visual resolution. Now in 2020 I had to see what this movie would be like in 4K and I wasn't disappointed.

My Review of "Brightburn"
Brightburn is a movie that came out back in 2019 and I'm surprised as to how it isn't as popular as it should be. Seeing as the Superman franchise is so popular it should have been a shoe in for this movie to make it big because it is basically a retelling of the origin story of Superman but with a big twist. Instead of a good Superman we get an evil Superman, plus the movie is changed to a horror movie.

My Review of "Skyscraper"
Skyscraper came out in 2018 and it stars Dwayne Johnson. It can easily be misidentified as another movie he had made back in 2015 called San Andreas. There are some similarities but ultimately they are entirely different movies. San Andreas dealt with a whole city falling apart whereas this movie dealt with one falling building. The similarities lie in the main character's focus throughout the movie.

My Review of "The Art of War"
The Art of War is a Wesley Snipes action movie that came out back in 2000. When watching this you're going to have to throw out some logic in your head knowing that it's an old Hollywood action flick. If you're able to throw away your logic you're in for quite a treat. There's a lot of fun little twists and action sequences that will have you thinking, "oh yeah they could only have done this at that time and get away with it."

My Review of "Faster"
Faster came out back in 2010. It's a pretty fun concept and you can sort of see some comparisons to it to John Wick. Unfortunately there's nothing that really jumps out that really makes this movie a stand out. That's not to say that this isn't an entertaining movie though. It's a pretty fun popcorn movie but it's ultimately forgettable.

My Review of "Dolly Parton: Here I Am"
Dolly Parton: Here I Am is a documentary that I would have thought they'd have made a long time ago. After watching the documentary though, I have a better understanding of why a documentary was probably hard to make. She lived a very interesting life and I keep forgetting how much Dolly has accomplished over the last 50 years. She's one of those old school people that is quite endearing but also difficult to explore.

My Review of "Next"
Next is an older movie that came out back in 2007. It's really funny how much you notice fashion trends when you watch older movies. This movie actually had a really great concept that I was really wishing they'd play more with. Instead they kind of got drawn out with an overly dramatic romance story that took away a lot from this movie.

My Review of "12 Monkeys"
12 Monkeys came out back in 1995 and still this movie holds strong today. There are a lot of outdated ways of storytelling and whatnot but for the most part it tells a pretty interesting story that will have you questioning yourself afterwards. It's been a while since I watched a more thought provoking movie and this was pretty relevant to today as it deals with a global pandemic in the future.
