Amanda's Curious Catalogue
A place for all my writing! Okay, maybe that sub-title is a little too grandiose, but madness truly is a great descriptor for some if not all of my work. I have a penchant for allowing my passion and excitement to leak through, turning some pieces ( like my book reviews ) into blubbering messes of THOUGHTS and FEELINGS rather than critical feedback.

Izzoradelle, the Drowned Shieldmaiden Part II: Call of the Banners
This is a series that I wrote over a year ago while playing on a Valheim community server. The stories have been edited to remove some player tags and player clans to provide privacy to those individuals. If you wish to experience this breathtaking world for yourself, you can check out the official Valheim website here or download the game on Steam here.

Silence the FlamesTop Story - September 2023
“Those candle flames were like the lives of men. So fragile. So deadly. Left alone, they lit and warmed. Let run rampant, they would destroy the very things they were meant to illuminate.” ― Brandon Sanderson, The Way of Kings

CURSE: the 200,000 Words of an Angsty TeenagerSecond Place in Writers Challenge
"On 9/1/2013, I embarked on a journey I thought was going to be short-lived and...mostly for fun. But, this one silly idea became the light and passion of my life. A Fan-Fiction turned novel turned seven book series isn't something that just happens, it is worked on, slaved on, and bled on. Four years I have spent with this one story, this one idea, and it has become such a major part of my life, that I couldn't imagine being without it. It has gained me a following of readers who have connected to the story on a level I didn't think was possible. CURSE is my baby, an accumulation of my thoughts, feelings, and real life struggles turned into a fantasy world filled with complex characters. Now, as a part of the work in progress FATE OF FIRE series, I can't wait to spend many more years writing about this world and these characters with the people who have supported me since the start. Happy Four Year Anniversary to my novel, CURSE! ❤" - Facebook post by Amanda Starks, 2017

Chemical Experiment: Resurgence
PART III: DELAYED EMERGENCE "The emergence from anesthesia is the stage of general anesthesia featuring the patient’s progression from the unconsciousness status to wakefulness and restoration of consciousness. This complex process has precise neurobiology which differs from that of induction. Despite the medications commonly used in anesthesia allow recovery in a few minutes, a delay in waking up from anesthesia, called delayed emergence, may occur."

Suicide NoteTop Story - August 2023
Trigger Warning: suicide, suicide ideation, and notes. Please do not continue if you are sensitive to these topics. I won't be describing anything graphic, but it is a heavy topic that is not for everyone whatever stage of your life and/or healing you are in. Take care of yourself first!

Moth & the Wings of Kalmera: Part II
Don't Miss Out on Part I! It took no more than a few hours for Moth to gather his things and prepare for the hunt that would take place. There were no goodbyes, no send-offs, and no words of advice. He was sure he was the only Skaerguard in living memory who had taken on such a task. He was on his own for this one.
