the sound of the bagpipes: Dior Resort 2025.

70 years after Dior's last show in Scotland. Maria Grazia returns with the Resort 2025 collection

The tables turned this week. Lots going on. Regarding Maria Grazia's Resort 2025, she showed once again that she knows how to maintain her signature and redefine codes for the Dior woman. She had Tartan, Mary Stuart, regional symbols, cedars, unicorns, argyle and punk signed by Grazia.

First things first, I won't go into details about the location, it's so green and bucolic. Directly from the gardens of Drummond Castle, in Perthshire, Scotland. A code of Scottish culture.

So, with 89 looks Maria Grazia mixed visual codes from different eras that visually combine the punk of the mid-70s, the grunge of the 1990s, Mary Queen of Scots, the 16th century tartan, a symbol of Scottish culture.

The first 15 looks with a strong reference to the outdoors, black galoshes, tartan dresses, branded waists, balloon midi skirts and sets galore. A variation of purples, blacks and some white signs. Accessories, gloves, plaid socks and practical crossbody bags.

The second part was dominated by the traditional Scottish tartan, tweeds, and grandparents' vintage style knitwear. For commercial and economic reasons, she again chose to collaborate with local designers and artisans. Something typical of her work, looking for the best local references. So the tweeds and cashmere are from Johnstons of Elgin. Hats by Robert Mackie and knitwear by Esk Cashmere.

A bit of nostalgia, she returned to the past with embroidery as protest art, a reminder of Chimamanda's poet prints on her t-shirts in 2014. And the New Look got a reinterpretation with versions of kilts instead of skirts.

Plus photographs of the 1955 charity ball at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire. A spring-summer collection presented by Dior that turned prints and embroidery into pieces from the cruise 2025 collection.

Some classics like straight necklines, chokers, combat boots, puffs in a gothic and punk universe. Highlighting the third and fourth part, much more romantic looks, with more lace, ponchos, green tones in jeans, short jackets. And finally, lots of transparencies in tulle and lace.

About Resort 2025, I like Grazia's style. It has feminism, femininity, elegance. Ambiguities. Bravery and calm. She knows how to maintain codes and elevate them to the Dior feminine universe. She knows what a signature is and keeps it under lock and key.

I know that for many, the classic nauseates. But we cannot deny the good references, the distinct visual codes and the aligned silhouettes. A collection about wild medieval beauty, rebel rebel and romance from Dior by Maria Grazia. It was sufficient, dry, elegant and once again classic.

That's it for today.

Have a good weekend.

Hugs,Grazie. <3
