Crypto or the Gold rush over again?

Everything comes in cycles

In thinking about what to write about BITCOIN the thought came to me that this is very similar in many regards to the gold rush of 1849. At first everyone was driven by the idea of easy wealth and the lifestyle it brought. But with it came so much more, like greed and anger. Mercilessly eradicating the natives because they were bad for business. They took up the land and scared the the miners and for what, greed? Crime ran rapid in the mining camps because the government simply didn't have the knowledge or the capability to enforce the laws that were needed at the time. Eventually big money figured it out and made it not possibly for the the average guy at the bottom to make it worth there time. Now you might say, but they created jobs for these miners. I say at what cost where these jobs created, is the human life or any life not more valuable than gold? Why do we allow greed to take over our lives and control it? We are all enslaved to the all mighty dollar and this is what the gold rush helped carry forward. Greed breads greed and for what, greed is a temporary solution in the souls long journey. When has greed or a greedy person been good for you or society?

So again I ask, how is it any different today? Yes we aren't eradicating people in an obvious way for this BITCOIN rush? But at the time of the gold rush and today, greed is everywhere unfortunately. Do we even have the technology to police a virtual world? Think about it in the terms of the gold rush, the government did what made them more money. Why else would you kill people for something that's temporary? The fact that we had a bunch of people larping and take over the white house should tell us something. This doesn't give anyone a warm fuzzy about the power to control more serious matters. The government would like to move to a crypto currency yet most of the people in the congress are of an older generation that don't even fully understand the internet never mind a virtual currency. With this said, I'm sure in 20 years, hine sight will be 2020. So what is the answer and how will crypto shape our future? Will we eventually break away from one made up currency to another? Slowly everything will be virtual and at what point do we end up in a world like the movie WALL-E? Looking at statistics, the obesity rate is only increasing and how long will it be before people no longer leave the house? I'm not saying technology is all bad but the greed of humans will make it so. We all know what's not good for us but we turn the other cheek and pretend it ain't so. What drives the human race to want more and more and why? At least the gold rush had tangible items you could hold onto that no matter what happened in the world will always hold it's value.

Crypto currency will only continue to grow if the powers that be are able to make there money from it as well. How would taxes work on crypto currency? I assume the the government or NATO will have there own in which people would be paid from. From the end user stand point, using crypto is no different than using your debit card. You don't care where it came from as long it buys what you want. I guess the real question is why do we need a new currency? Just like the dollar bill was introduced in 1792? Paper notes where in use to pay the troops in Massachusetts in 1690 and it took 49 years for someone start think about stopping counterfeiting. Where there is anything of value we will find greed amongst the people to some level. Everything always has two side to it, so what are the negatives? I guess we'll sit back relax and watch as the crypto world unfolds upon us.
