Writes make mistakes all the time.

They don't write as much as they should.

They tell the readers things that should be shown to them.

They info dump on the reader on the very first page.

They can make mistake after mistake when it comes to their book, but there is one mistake that once it's made - there is no turning back.

Writers! Are you listening?

Stop Rejecting Yourself Before Anyone Else Has The Chance To

Any mistake you make with your writing can be fixed at best or seen as a lesson for the next book at its worst.

But telling yourself that no one is going to read your book or telling yourself that your book isn't going to sell or be accepted by an agent or a publisher is going to kill your chances stone dead before they even begin to walk.

Stop talking down your writing, your ideas, your anything and everything.

The more you do this the more it builds in your head and your brain will start to see it as fact. You'll bring this with you to every writing session until you begin to wonder why you are even showing up to write in the first place.

You won't put that little bit into your story that all good stories need - heart.

Stop putting yourself down.

All of those writers before you who went on to publication and beyond had their doubts about their work.

They probably had days when they had to drag themselves by their bootstraps onto their writing desk and then strap themselves in until they got out the words they needed to.

They may have doubted, but they didn't give up.

They kept putting themselves out there despite the rejections, some despite the bad reviews, and they kept believing that one day they would make it.

You can too, but you have to stop giving up and putting yourself down to get there.

You are meant to tell amazing stories.

They will be loved, even if it's just by a handful of people just think of the lasting impact your book is going to have on those people. They will always carry that most important part of you with them for the rest of their lives.

Don't deny them of that.

Stop rejecting yourself.

Best of luck,

With love,

B.K. xo xo
