I find reading the works of Alina to be akin to breaths of fresh air on an otherwise warm, balmy and barmy day. She/he only just joined in June 2024 and has written 5 stories so far, but I find this creator's work a joy to read. It brings back such nostalgia of days when we roamed art galleries and bookstores just for the simple joy of living.

The choice of profile artistic pic representation is a peek into Alina's love of art and books.

AH! To speak of Poe and Sherlock Holmes, sigh! How could I not be captivated by Alina's choices of the magnificent days of prose and genius.

"Edgar Allan Poe is widely credited with pioneering detective fiction through his creation of Le Chevalier Auguste Dupin in three short stories published in 1840. Following Poe's lead, numerous authors ventured into the realms of detective fiction, mostly in short story form, many of whose works were published in the Strand Magazine. Among these iconic characters emerged Sherlock Holmes, created by Arthur Conan Doyle, drawing inspiration from both Dupin and Doyle's own professor, Joseph Bell. The Victorian era saw a surge in detective fiction from various writers, but why?

The legacy of Victorian sensational fiction continues to resonate in modern times, notably through iconic characters like Sherlock Holmes, whose eccentric behavior and impeccable detective skills remain celebrated today. The enduring influence of Victorian authors such as Poe and Doyle is evident in the continued use of plot twists and multiple perspectives in contemporary detective fiction, a testament to their enduring impact on the genre".

Alina introduces these wonderful old depictions of art throughout his/her pieces, and yes, there may be a hint of AI in between the lines, but this only helps to enhance the historical significance of the materials which are presented.~~

Another of my favorite things to do is write down beautiful and heartfelt quotes wherever I can find them, Alina has made a list of some lovely ones here for us to peruse and enjoy. Indeed, a writer after my own heart.

Also included by Alina are links to great quotes in which you can indulge your senses.

Cheery welcomes of the Spring—Spring has come! ~ Norman Rowland Gale, ‘Spring'

Listen to the trees talking in their sleep,’ she whispered, as he lifted her to the ground. ‘What nice dreams they must have!” L.M. Montgomery, ‘Anne of Green Gables'

The sun was pouring in slanting rays through the blinds and there was something so joyous in the sight of it that she jumped out of bed and ran to the window. She drew up the blinds and opened the window itself and a great waft of fresh, scented air blew in upon her. The moor was blue and the whole world looked as if something magical had happened to it. There were tender little fluting sounds here and there and everywhere, as if scores of birds were beginning to tune up for a concert. Mary put her hand out of the window and held it in the sun. ~ Frances Hodgson Burnett, ‘The Secret Garden’

“Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo? It'll be spring soon. And the orchards will be in bloom. And the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And they'll be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields... and eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries?” ~ J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King

A breath of fresh air in springtime is our Alina. Best of luck on more stories to come.
