This Tiny Life
When I was five years old, my parents had a small 10-foot camper that they kept in their backyard. It was to small to really do much of anything in it. I recall that it had a table that sat right next to a big window. Through that window I could see the backyard. It was like my escape from reality. When I first discovered that the door was unlocked, I would sneak out and sit at the table and play with my pick up sticks.

Mouth Kisses
"Hey assholes! Let's get rippin'!" "Does everyone have gas? Better fill up now because we have a long trip ahead of us." It's 4 AM and the sun is still hanging out on the east. I wake up, make some coffee and a light breakfast. I'm staring out of my kitchen window waiting for my morning ritual to start. The black of the early morning is starting to fade into light and I make my way to the bathroom to finish what I started. The fun is about to begin and the road awaits.

Living in a Van
Growing up came fast for me. Living in a household I disagreed with caused me to move out earlier than most teenagers. Although I was already 18, I was naive and thought I was ready for anything. Four moves later, my boyfriend and I were living in a bare, $800/mo, 1 bedroom apartment in a nice part of San Antonio. Big Mistake.

What Can Go Wrong on a Road Trip?
Road trips are not without complications. You may be expecting to just jump in your wagon, hit the road, and have a smooth ride. However, this is rarely the case! Although some of the problems we have had have been pretty comical, some have set us back and cost us a chunk of our budget. We absolutely always carry basic tools with us. Spanners, sockets, screwdrivers, trolley jack to name a few. We would certainly recommend to anyone thinking of going on a road trip to do so too. We have even considered carrying with us some basic spare parts.

Life Hack: Work Smart, Not Hard
As a young professional in their early 30’s, getting ahead in life seems to be my only focus lately. The pressure to succeed can be really daunting, but what I have found is that the simplest solution is the best. In effort to become more economical as well as environmentally aware, I have risen to the challenge of living without a car and maintaining a job for almost 4 years in a city without a strong public transportation system.

Driving in Iceland
You should drive Ring Road (the big number one road that goes all around Iceland). If you have a fear of driving in foreign countries, you should get over it. They do have a lot of public transportation in Reykjavik (Iceland’s capital, where most of the people are), so if driving in a foreign country spooks you out for whatever reason, you do have other options–they’re just narrow ones. I suggest you get over whatever fears you have of foreign steering wheels and give the country a go.

Ode to the Road. Top Story - April 2018.
In 2017 I took a road trip around the American west with my girlfriend. The car that took us on the month-long journey was a red Mazda 3 that we affectionately named “Peppa.” Last month, Peppa’s lease ran out and we had to say goodbye. I wanted to take a moment and recognize Peppa’s contribution to our eventful travels by recapping five of the more memorable drives of 2017.

The Miles on My Car
I bought my first car when I was 20-years-old. It was a 2011 Mazda3i Sport with a pearl black finish. I purchased it for $12,000: my largest purchase yet. What I didn't know at the time was that it was going to be the vessel that would be with me as I reached many major milestones in my life.
