Travelling on Intuition
Perth to the Gold Coast; a whopping 6,324 kilometres of vast undulating plains and a meandering coastline that is an absolute pleasure to surf and simply soak the soul. I was offered a free flight across to travel with the rest of the fam; and for a student scrimping and scrounging every penny she could muster for her travels ahead, it was pretty much a pot of gold at the end of a hard years work.

Surfing the Wild Rugged Plains of North West Australia
The North West of Aus. In these remote, arid stretches of red dirt and raw rugged plains, it’s easy to immerse yourself in the land and disconnect from society and the habitual use of social media. In fact, in most places you don’t have a choice; and it's seriously rejuvenating.

Hike more worry less.
Australia never fails to amaze me. I was up early to get on a train going to Kootomba, very excited! I am one of those weird people who enjoys a morning hike instead of being in bed. Honestly, 7AM isn't too early for me as I usually wake up earlier than that. I put on my regular sneaker and made sure that I have a jumper just in case it gets cold somewhere on my hike. As I headed to the central station, I managed to grab a cuppa with a ham and cheese croissant. Who doesn't love a good croissant in the morning?

Developing an appreciation for the weird and wonderful world of Australian wildlife
Growing up as a young suburban Australian in one of Australia’s largest cities, I didn’t think much of Australia’s wildlife or “outback” any more than something you’d see on tourism advertisements or on symbols on our currency or government logos. This disinterest continued right through my teens and university, where I was instead captivated by the large alpine forests of North America and the creatures which inhabit it. So much was I intrigued by it, during the Christmas break in my second year I decided to take a trip to the Pacific North-west to experience it for myself.

A Bridge and an Opera House
I have travelled to many places in the world since I was twenty one and not too many rival the picturesque beauty of coming home to Sydney Harbour. I'm blessed that I have this view outside one of the rooms in my apartment. When I sit down at my computer and look to my right this beautiful view never fails to take my breath away.
