Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
My last hike to Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park was in August 2020. This is a short drive from Calgary if you live around here and right next door to Cochrane. I went on one of the trails that I haven't hiked before and discovered new (or rather old) delights along the way. I always like the feel around Cochrane. I get a feeling of comfort there for some reason.

Since Covid-19 made its appearance in 2019, many changes continue to be made to our everyday world. We recently heard on the news that Kananaskis Country will now be placing a fee for visiting there, and you can pay either by the day or buy a yearly pass. This is if the Land Amendments Act (Bill 64) passes which it probably will. Right now the fees don't seem to be a large amount; but as we know once the hooks are in, they only grow. I have always used the mountains as my escape from the city and harshness of city life, and last year went hiking weekly from June till November, so this news was not the most welcome I've ever heard.

There are over 84 million acres of woods, mountains, deserts, and preserved wilderness in the United State's National Park System, which makes it one of the prime places of disappearances and mysterious happenings to occur. So many of these mysteries remain unsolved. Hikers that just vanish into thin air, strange creatures that are spotted in the trees, even entire groups of people disappearing without any trace or explanation.
Under Western Skies
I spent most of my childhood in Eastern Wyoming, where the cattle outnumber people, the snow comes down horizontal, and coal mining is a way of life. It's taken me several years to appreciate this rough lifestyle. I'm in awe of those who still live in my hometown, battling the unforgiving Powder River Basin winters, the boom/bust economy, and the hard choices that stem from the loneliness geography can create.

“What’s that?” I asked, peering around her shoulder while I stirred butter into our morning oats. “A postcard from my Great Aunt Jo,” she said. “She’s mountain biking in Costa Rica!”

With the Alaska rule in full effect I was stuck on permanent night shifts fiming the onboard events and bar the scenic crusising once a week this was all I had to film for 6 months, so I could either half ass it like many senior videogs or go all in.

Holidays are one of the biggest motivators to keep Brits moving through their busy work schedules. We’re all waiting for the day we can step into the airport (several hours before the flight) and jet off to a sunny location where we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the simple things in life.
