A Never-Ending Journey
My story began years before I tried to cram my life into tiny boxes. I have always been reluctant to admit that love was something that I needed. It was something that I desired. But, even though I craved loved, it did not crave me. So I decided that I wouldn't focus on it. Instead, I would do anything to distract myself from reality. My reality is that I have never had a boyfriend before. I felt ashamed. I am a 22-year old that has never experienced romantic love. I longed for a high school sweetheart, but nobody seemed to bat an eyelid at me. During these primitive years, I never felt like I met societies standard of beauty. What I didn't have in looks, I made up with my personality. I was the funny one. I would make everybody laugh, even if it were at my own expense.

I was in San Francisco recently. It was a fun trip. While we were there, we went to many food places that were excellent. We went to the Muir Woods, and we travelled over the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. I was with my daughter and her two teen boys. She calls them her middles as she has olders, middles and littles. The middles are almost six feet tall and eat every two hours or so. They were always hungry. I would say, didn’t we just eat and one of them would say, that was a long time ago and I am starving!

Eliza CumberbatchPublished 2 years ago in WanderI had the best day!
I had the best day today! I went for a twelve kilometer hike along the Trepanier Creek Greenway trail in Peachland BC. I started on the Paradise valley side trail head and hiked six kilometers over a mountain trail which takes you into Peachland BC. You come out at the trail beside the elementary school and you can then walk into the little town of Peachland nestled in the heart of the Okanagan. I stopped and had lunch at the subway at the mall beside the school then I turned around and hiked all the way back. I had the whole trail to myself the whole way in and then out, except for a chipmunk, a crow, a woodpecker and a Golden Eagle.

Paddleboarding the Colorado River
I’m not going to lie, paddleboarding wasn’t something that I was overly familiar with until my last visit to the US. I remember seeing people paddleboarding on the canal in Dublin city centre from time to time, and that was the height of my experience with paddleboarding.

The Beach My love for beaches is just too much. I could go there almost every day. It’s the way the warm breeze caresses my soft skin, the sound of the waves and the sweet smell of nature. In a world filled with industries, carbon, man-made infrastructures and a lot of activities here and there. A place like a beach just reminds me that I truly exist(because sometimes it feels like nothing is real) and that life is beautiful. It frees me from my worries at the moment and helps me see things from a different perspective. I don’t like swimming in the beach water even though I know how to swim, I just feel like I’ll get carried away by the water so I go forward a little and let the tides cover my legs just up before my knees. I enjoy it best that way. I also enjoy walking across the beach near the water and digging into the sands with my legs. Playing games there are pretty fun too.
