Ruby Tuesday Alnwick

Introduction

When I come to Alnwick I often drop into Ruby Tuesday on Narrowgate because it is full of fascinating things, a lot of which I would love to have for myself.

This is their Facebook page and they have a website and Instagram feed, so you can see all the good stuff that they have.

Today's Visit To Ruby Tuesday

I was walking to the Beehive but the spinning globes in the window of Ruby Tuesday tempted me through the door. These are part of some amazing things from Gingko Design.

Fiona, the proprietor told me about the amazing pieces that you can see here

The globes float and spin over a powered base. This must be something to do with electromagnets but they are almost hypnotic and fascinating. Then here is another example, this one in the shop.

With his extraordinary levitating Smart Moon Lamp, you could light up your whole world.

While these draw you in there are so many other things that are there to amaze you. Fiona is very knowledgeable and obviously has a taste for things that are out of the mainstream, but so tempting to people like me. Like these things here.

I know this whole parade of temptations could take over at least a part of my abode, but they are just a small part of the treasures you can find in Ruby Tuesday.

These are all items chosen by Fiona and when you turn around and explore you find some beautiful jewellery and ranges of clothing and textiles and some amazing stuffed toys from Jellycat.

The wonderful thing about Ruby Tuesday is that all these treasures are there, and if you want one you can buy it and take it home with you.

The website is extra special and you can experience it here. While it is not as good as the physical experience of being in the shop with Fiona's company it gives you many reasons to want to go through the door and see these wonderful things for real.

There are four main sections:

  1. Home and Lifestyle
  2. Fashion
  3. Skin and Bodycare
  4. Toys and Games

You could posit that there is something for everyone, and there are certainly a lot of items to explore, like the Cheese Knife by Legacy Silverware:

Hand-crafted silverware, silver cutlery and silver products made in Sheffield, England. Suppliers to the Royal Family, Sultan of Brunei, Concorde and The Titanic. Silverware and silver cutlery, unquestionably made in England, since 1898.

Then there is the UK Gift of the Year Award-winning Flip Click Clock.

Remember you need to visit the site or the shop to see these amazing items that I am mentioning in this article. You will find something here that fascinates you and may end up being a fixture in your home.

In fashion there are clothes for babies through to adults, for instance Ivy & Rigg Ethical Jumpers

Statement British-made wool jumpers made from nature's originals, spun from Northern wool. Crave the chill with the warmth and comfort this chunky, Nordic-style knit promises. Proudly supporting British farmers and manufacturers. Wool is a natural product, variances within the wool and subtle aroma are expected

There are lots of natural soaps in their skincare range.

Then in Toys, you have Jellycat Hibernating Fox. This is how Ruby Tuesday describe it:

Hibernating Fox is fast asleep! This scrummily stretchy ginger-cream cub has made a fleecy oatmeal nest. Snoozing away, with eyes sweetly shut, tail tucked in and foldy ears up, this sleepyhead is snuffly-snug!

Conclusion

This is a wonderful shop to visit and you won't want to leave without taking something with you.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like the kind of place that would be a good fit if I ever get my Talking Northeast project off the ground. And looks like one to visit when I'm next up that way, project or no.

Looks like a great little shop with cute unique gifts! The outside of the shop has great curb appeal, it calls to future customers to come in and walk around. Thank you for sharing this unique shop.

  • When I saw the title, my thoughts went immediately to the restaurant chain we have over on this side of the pond, Ruby Tuesday's. (Believe it or not, open every day of the week, lol.) Fun sounding/looking shop, the kind I enjoy meandering through to find some treasure.
