The Vegas Golden Knights won the 2023 Stanley Cup, defeating the Florida Panthers in six games. The Golden Knights are the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup since the 1995-96 Colorado Avalanche.

The Golden Knights were led by their top line of Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, and Jonathan Marchessault. Stone was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the most valuable player of the playoffs. He had 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) in 20 games.

The Golden Knights' goaltender, Marc-Andre Fleury, was also a key contributor. Fleury had a 16-1 record in the playoffs with a 1.98 goals against average and a .928 save percentage.

The Golden Knights' victory was a surprise to many. They were the youngest team in the playoffs and had only been in the league for four seasons. However, they showed that they were a team to be reckoned with. They were the first team in NHL history to win at least one playoff game in their first four seasons.

The Golden Knights' victory was a great story for the city of Las Vegas. The team has been a huge success since it arrived in town in 2017. They have helped to revitalize the city's downtown area and have become a major tourist attraction.

The Golden Knights' victory is a reminder that anything is possible in the NHL. They are the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup in 25 years. They are proof that even the smallest of teams can dream big and achieve great things.

The Stanley Cup is the oldest professional sports trophy in North America. It was donated by Lord Stanley of Preston, the Governor General of Canada, in 1892. The trophy was originally awarded to the top amateur ice hockey team in Canada, but it became the championship trophy of the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1926.

The Stanley Cup is a large, silver chalice that is over 3 feet tall and weighs over 35 pounds. It is engraved with the names of all of the teams that have won the Stanley Cup. The trophy is also decorated with silver bands that represent the different eras of Stanley Cup history.

The Stanley Cup is one of the most coveted trophies in all of sports. It is a symbol of excellence and achievement, and it is a source of great pride for the teams that have won it.

Here is a brief history of the Stanley Cup:

1892: Lord Stanley of Preston donates the trophy to the top amateur ice hockey team in Canada.

1906: Professional teams become eligible to challenge for the Stanley Cup.

1915: The National Hockey Association (NHA) and the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA) agree to a gentlemen's agreement in which their respective champions would face each other annually for the Stanley Cup.

1926: The NHA and the PCHA merge to form the National Hockey League (NHL). The Stanley Cup becomes the championship trophy of the NHL.

1947: The NHL officially takes control of the Stanley Cup.

1963: A new, authenticated "Presentation Cup" is created. The original 1892 trophy is retired to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

1993: A "Permanent Cup" is created for display at the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Presentation Cup is still awarded to the Stanley Cup champions, but it is not physically presented to them.

The Stanley Cup has been won by 24 different teams. The Montreal Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup a record 24 times, followed by the Toronto Maple Leafs with 13 wins. The most recent Stanley Cup champions are the Colorado Avalanche, who defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games in the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.

The Stanley Cup is a cherished symbol of hockey excellence. It is a reminder of the history and tradition of the game, and it is a source of great pride for the teams that have won it.

I also forgot to add, the Knights won the cup in only 5 games on home ice. Again I appreciate the article, but it needs a lot of work

Although I appreciate the article, being that I am a huge VGK fan. There's a lot wrong with this article brother. Neither Patches nor Fleury were on this championship run, Marchy was the Conn Smythe Winner, Adin Hill was the starting goalie in the finals, Vegas actually lost 6 games before taking home the cup, the team has been in existence for 6 years now, the Knights went to the finals in year one, and the Kraken in only their second year went on the 2nd round.. There needs to be a lot of revisions here my friend.
