Where's the Pony?. Top Story - February 2025.
”Write what you know.” That is so simple. It’s true. Simple. Real. But what if? What if everything you knew to be true just, just… isn’t anymore? If all you were certain of dissolves into space dust and dream fragments and nothing seems true?

How To Be A Good Wife?. Top Story - February 2025.
“Look, I stopped telling you what to do because you hate it when I nag you, but this was something that you wanted!” Evric rolled his eyes and groaned, “I said I will do it and I’ll do it when I want to! Jeez!” “But it’s been two weeks since you said that. As your wife, I need to be supportive of your goals and make sure you achieve them”, reasoned Bianca. “There you go again, guilt tripping me!” Bianca gasped, “Guilt tripping you?! Do you even hear yourself?!” “Any good wife would just let me be! Let me do my own thing at my own pace! Why is it always a rush with you? Don’t you understand that I need to be ready and prepared to do it?” “Yes, I understand that”, explained Bianca, “But you’ve already bought everything that is necessary for you to do it. Seems prepared enough to me.” Evric looked at his wife in utter disbelief, “Mentally! I need to be prepared mentally to do it as well!” “I don’t understand. You had two weeks to do that.” “I was thinking of ways to do it effectively and I was out purchasing the things needed. You know I don’t multitask well.” “Yes, I’m sorry about that.” “Schizophrenia is so difficult to deal with. So, please cut me some slack”, pleaded Evric. Shocked would be an understatement to what Bianca felt. Evric knew what she was thinking, “I’m sorry Bia, I should have told you sooner. I was diagnosed a few months ago. That’s why I decided that it’s about time that I do it. I think it’s for the best.” “I think it’s a wonderful idea, but I wish you would have told me about this sooner. You know I’ll support whatever decision you take.” “You know what? I’ll do it tonight. I think I’m ready. No, I know I’m ready!” “I’m so happy for you! Please know that no matter what, I’ll always love you” “I love you too, Bia”, Evric smiled and kissed her. ~~~~~ “Helium asphyxiation?” “Yup, that seems to be the case, considering the helium tank and these equipments”, gestured at them Louis vaguely. “What’s taking the coroner so long?” asked Gary. “Beats me. Also, the wife definitely needs to be questioned. I was told she sounded very calm during the call.” “Poor woman must have been in shock. I mean, who wouldn’t be if their husband committed suicide? “I don’t know, Gary. It didn’t seem normal to me. She hasn’t shed a tear since we arrived and it didn’t seem like she had been crying either.” “What are you trying to imp—” Bianca interrupted their conversation, “I made some tea. Would you like some, Officers?” Louis gave Gary a see-what-I-mean look before he addressed Bianca, “Thank you, Mrs. Luft but we need to bring you in for questioning.” “Sure, I’m happy to be of help, Officer.” ~~~~~ “Were you at home when your husband, ummm…when he took his life?” asked Gary. “Yes I was, Officer”, Bianca admitted. “Were you asleep?” “No, Officer.” “Were you in the kitchen or some other parts of the house?” “No, Officer.” “Damn it! Then, where were you?!” Louis slammed his fist on the table. “As a good wife, I sat beside Evric to support him and watched him do it. It only took about fifteen minutes!” __________________________________________

Moonlight Sonata. Top Story - February 2025.
Years Travelled: 1,453 Total Distance: 5,690,820,332,193,400 km Throughout the time I have been overseeing the USS Starbounder, I have been fulfilling my purpose. Engine functions have been stable, navigation has not suffered miscalculations, and the 2,000 humans sleeping on board have remained safely in hibernation. The primary objective of my mission was to reach the Alpha Centauri star system, where, long ago, humans had identified a promising planet through their telescopes. I arrived in the star system today and located the coordinates of the planet, but all I found was empty space. Its solar system had collapsed the way scientists had predicted Earth’s would. The planet had met its end.

The Assignment. Top Story - February 2025.
The Assignment D. A. Ratliff I woke up in Paris, not knowing if this would be the best or worst day of my life. Dawn lit the city sky outside the hotel room where I had spent the last three days posing as a wealthy vineyard heiress from Reims. There was a plot to kidnap the young heiress, Lucie Boudoin, and I had taken her place as bait. For my first assignment, being bait was stressful, but I had to admit it was a bit of an adrenaline rush.

Thank you.. Top Story - February 2025.
A friend of mine got the words 'thank you' tattooed after they experienced something awful and were caught by their community. I haven't experienced anything as bad as that truly awful event, but I have been caught, and I do want to say thank you.
