Unity - Is It More Elusive Now Than Ever?

The First Few Weeks Under A "Divider in Chief"

The very concepts of brotherhood, sisterhood, community and coming together are wonderful ideas and ideals. However, in many parts of our lives and places in our world, these put into practice have been rather hard to find.

The newly elected and inaugurated president of the United States Joe Biden originally ran on the notion of attempting to unify a country that many would agree is very divided in several aspects. As we all know, words are great but actions speak louder. And over the course of the first few weeks of his administration, unity has seemed to be anything but a priority.

A key concept of working to build unity is compromise and meeting people in the middle. It's about finding common ground if you will. Governing from the center is one of the phrases that people have used to describe this practice. And initially, even those who did not support Biden were probably hoping that we would see this be the foundation of his time spent as the leader of the free world. Sadly, that has not been the case up to this point and it looks like it may not be on the agenda anytime soon.

There have been a record number of executive orders put into place in such a short period of time since he took office. And, these orders have almost exclusively held an extreme left-wing position. So much so that he's even been called out by the openly liberal New York Times to scale back on his use of the executive order. You know it has to be extreme when those guys have a problem with it.

With a stroke of a pen, this "uniter" has shut down the Keystone Pipeline, costing Americans at least 10,000 jobs and possibly upwards of 70,000 over the course of several years. Many of these are good paying jobs that would be filled by Native Americans. This was done in the name of climate change and protecting the environment. Few people have anything against protecting our planet even though some might have you think they do. However, this order does little more than serve as propaganda as that its impact on the environment could and likely will be more detrimental than the pipeline itself. We will still be getting fuel transported from the same regions as before but now instead of being shipped through a secure piping system, it will now have to be delivered by vehicles that produce emissions and are susceptible to spills and accidents on the roads.

With another stroke of the pen, he all but destroyed the concept of girl's and women's sports. Now we are set to have biologically born males compete in scholastic athletics against biologically-born females. This not only going to have a negative impact on female students

potential for earning college scholarships but even having a chance to earn a spot on a team in certain instances. While I am all for LGBTQ rights and a fundamental idea that we should all will be able to love whoever we choose, It is a total and irresponsible denial of science and reason to suggest that there are not biological differences between males and females. For example, the disparity between the level of muscle mass between the two genders.

This man that was once looked at as being a moderate in terms of his political positions has done nothing but cater to one side of the aisle and specifically that sides extreme agendas since stepping into his role as commander in chief. This is not the way to unite people it is only a way to divide them more rapidly and fiercely than ever before.
