Shame On Congress

While Trump continues to ignite a furor over his election loss we have to understand that when public officials, police, and armed forces act above the law anarchy rises. These people including Donald Trump are sworn to serve and protect the public. And, yet over the past 35 years there have been more instances that have given rise to anarchy in our streets. When the United States has been subjected to years of disingenuous policies the political corruption that is now at the highest levels we have seen in decades has increased the numbers of impoverished millions to unprecedented levels. Not since the Great Depression has America seen such wide spread homelessness, starvation and acute poverty.

The lifeline that Congress today has thrown out in hopes of rescuing the American public seems to be attached to an anchor. An anchor that will only drown millions more into a sea of hopelessness and despair. As Congress has done so many times in the past few decades when ever there is a crisis they are always Johnny on the spot to rescue the have's while the have-not's continue to drown. What they did with this latest stimulus is case in point.

As wide-spread fear and anxiety continues to sweep across the world caused by this mutant strain of Covid-19 there still has been no real encouraging verification that the vaccines developed in record time actually mintage one from contracting this deadly virus and other mutations that are now surfacing. When other countries have been swift to act once the Pandemic struck back in February and chose to throw life lines of economic support to their citizens the US didn't. While other countries issued safety protocols and restrictions were put in effect the United States again was too little and to late. Consequently, we have the highest death rate of any country around the world. Not, only that but Congress continues to fail the American public ever since.

This latest signal that Congress is helping the general public from the passage of this latest stimulus deal they have made it clear they are so concerned about the deficit and their own pocketbooks. This, when the country is falling apart. Today, so many Republicans and even some Democrats remain totally transfixed on polarizing party loyalties while consistently and continually ignoring what is good and necessary for the country. It can be arguably said they forgot those hallowed words spoken by JFK when he said "Ask not what your country can do for you but what can you do for your country." We should remind these gurus of political expediency that in order to provide economic stability in times of crisis is to adhere to the Williams Theory Of Economic Evolution. It states that when you have more people with enough disposable income to spend, save, pay down debt and invest is the greatest deterrent to an unstable economy. Even prior to this Pandemic this nation had and still has the greatest Wealth disparity gap in our history and consequently it creates less financial stability and more economic hardships for the majority of Americans. And, now with the acute health crisis brought on by this pandemic has caused the greatest humanitarian crisis that we now have as well.

Never before in modern times have we seen such arrogance and utter defiance of the countries needs in times of great crisis as we have now. Congress has shown by their examples they have morphed into not only a body of self serving bureaucrats but hostile entities to the American people they are sworn to serve. When other countries like Australia and New Zealand and even Canada have responded to this Global Pandemic they have successfully succeeded in curbing the horrific consequences that are attributed to the Covid-19 virus and in doing so they are supplying all their citizens with the financial resources to keep their countries stable. In Australia and New Zealand each citizen is receiving a by- monthly stimulus of $1500 and Canada's monthly stimulus is $2000 until this coming spring. The United States meanwhile certain members of our Congress continue to thwart any effort to stabilize our country.

What our congress is doing is holding the American people hostage at a time of great urgency to act to stave off what is now a growing humanitarian catastrophe. And, you think this latest stimulus of direct cash of $600 a one time infusion into peoples pocketbooks is going to cut it? It is time we the people rally behind a unified effort to get congress to again pass another vital and necessary stimulus bill with monthly cash payments of $2000 until November of 2021 to all Americans whose yearly incomes fall under $150,000. Failure to do so only precludes more economic devastation, more acute poverty, and greater chances this pandemic will continue to ravage the country.
