Hold Public Speakers Accountable For Their Words
Everyone in the nation listened to the racist, divisive rhetoric of Donald Trump during the 4 years he was president, yet half of the registered voters cast a ballot for him anyway. Trump's hate speech played a part in the rioting on January 6 and many of those who took part admitted it was because of the words of the former president that they acted. Even so, Trump was acquitted of any wrongdoing during the impeachment hearings. As long as we do not hold public figures accountable for their rhetoric, they will continue to say things that cause controversy and lie to our faces.
