Are You Using The Best Soil For Bonsai?
Well Draining Soil for Bonsai Trees Are you using the best soil for bonsai? The answer lies in the soil’s drainage. While a lot of plants love dense, rich organic soil, bonsai trees need a mix of good soil and grit to allow water to be helf BUT also drain away without the roots rotting.

Losses on both sides were profound — U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken, May 25 press conference with Israel’s prime minister Netanyahu in Israel, AlJazeera. (All of the following li(n)es were uttered during the same press conference.)
The Body is the Ultimate Political Arena
The word “Hip Hop” comes from the Wolof “hipi” which means “to open one’s eyes” and the English word “hop” which means “to move.” Hip Hop then means to be a knowledgeable mover of a knowledgeable movement. I learned this lesson from one of my first dance teachers, Duane Lee Holland. A former Olympic bound gymnast turned Broadway dancer, Duane is a man with open eyes. When we met he wore his hair in shoulder length locs, he has light brown skin, and always dresses in leather jackets and studded shoes. He dresses for an occasion, and if there is no occasion he intends to make one. He gave lectures on the power and importance of Hip Hop, its history and mission. He talked in lecture halls, in conference rooms, in hallways, in bathrooms, in gyms, wherever there was a chance to share his knowledge he shared it. Duane had the rare condition of being a man who believes in what he says. He didn’t speak so that he might be seen speaking, as many do, but because he knew desperately the necessity of what he had to say, that it must be said, and hardly anyone else would have the courage to say it. Among a group of dance students he asked ”If you know the word tendu, if you know plie, and pas de cheval, why won’t you learn jackhammer, jerk, boogaloo? Don’t these moves you watch on your phone and on your television, don’t they also have names and history? Isn’t this also a technique that we must honor?”

I wanted so badly to enter this contest but the problem is that my subject is miles away from happy. In fact, many people avoid this issue like the plague, afraid that if they chose to face it, the happiness they have established for themselves would crumble beneath their feet.

THE CRYSTAL LINES by Deborah Moran The drawings in the little black notebook were nothing special in my uncle’s estimation, when we found the little book at that rundown cottage’s estate sale in the countryside just beyond Cannes. Uncle Charles worked for an import / export company that frequently bought French flour and dairy products, so he lived half the year in France. He liked family visits so he could speak English with someone.
Deborah MoranPublished 3 years ago in The SwampThe Fate of Trumpism and Age of Post-Trumpism
In 2021, it is a time that we have embraced an order restored through the transition of power by our new presidential administration to repair the damage done by the previous, former administration led by Donald J. Trump following the attack on 1/6/21 at Capitol Hill, which questioned the accurate violation that the former commander-in-chief has implemented in the minds of his supporters and the QAnon conspiracy group as well as the presidential failure to serve, protect, and defend the constitution of the United States that he ignored. After hearing the speech by Congressman Jamie Raskin (D) of Maryland at the presence of the Senate, it has become clear that Donald J. Trump is not only convicted of the failure in office and wrongdoing of the election results he refused to acknowledge in his 4 year term, but is disqualified to hold any office of honor in the United States. This was not just only the end of Trumpism, but also the beginning of what happens when political parties in history start to split apart. When I have heard the news that after Biden made the first transition of power to the executive office, there had been some news of Trump stating that he would form his own political party and, at the same time, MAGA supporters and some members of the Republican party were also taking the same part. Well when I think about what would be if Trump left office, this painting would explain to some relation to which adds more story to it.
Victor ChristyPublished 3 years ago in The SwampThank you Artists
As I thought about the last for years as someone living in the United States, I asked myself, "how did we all make it?" But of course not all of us did. There has been so much tragedy and hardship for so many. With the rise of hatred and racism. It was always there bubbling under the surface but certain political enablers had emboldened it. With banning certain people from the country, and the terrible separations at the border. Nothing has really felt alright for empaths for the past four years. And then the pandemic hit and everyone was forced to make a choice. To stay home and take precautions or to do whatever they wanted. But for most of us, we were faced with true disaster for the first time. So for those of us still hanging on and getting by, what has got us through four years of repeated chaos and then several months of heightened trauma?

For some, especially for Martin Swoboda, his art reflects a sophisticated insight into the Black Live Matter movement within the United States and Europe. He has taken a brave stance, using his creativity and boldness to challenge our preconceptions of race and its place in the world today. He also pushes back against the status quo of racial injustice that permeates the fabric of our society and judicial systems.

Finding the right place to get good art supplies to help our passions and creativity spark to life is hard to find. I had heard of the art store Blick when my friend at the time took me over there. I left with several brushes that have not been entirely used, a sketch book, and acrylic paints. Whenever I would have the chance, window shopping at Blick was high on the list.
