Sky and 'YouGov' Pioneering Poll

To Be Revealed Today at 5 pm.

Sky News Presenter.

At 5 pm today Sky News will show the first 'YouGov' poll-projection of the general election campaign.

The polling company has partnered with 'Sky News' for the duration of the general election. 'YouGov' has pioneered a process to call every seat in the country based on extensive polling. In other words, based on asking a random group of people from a variety of backgrounds who they would vote for.

This will allow 'Sky News' to show the pollster's projected winner and their majority size-wise. Also, the makeup of the House of Commons. Not only that, but what 'big beasts' (well-known MPs) could potentially lose their seats.

This poll uses the MLRPC (Multi-Level-Regression-and-Poststratification) technique. This ground-breaking and pioneering technique was the first to identify that Theresa May would fall short of a majority in the 2017 general election.

This process takes the views of certain types of voters. Then, by knowing the type of voter, in each seat, it projects what will happen in each one. You will be able to watch this on 'Sky News' tonight at 5 pm.

Certainly, Sky News' partnering with 'YouGov' and using this technology will give the news outlet a steal on its rivals. Perhaps, the BBC, ITV, and others, have their joint ventures with other polling companies and may use similar technology. Or they may not, perhaps jealous of Sky's advantage with 'YouGov', in predicting the outcome of the general election, etc.

This election will be very interesting. Labour is expected to win with a landside if most polls are to be believed. Sir Keir along with Deputy Angela Rayner and potential Chancellor Rachel Reeves, has been touring the country putting on display the alternative policies they have compared to the Tories. Sunak and co meanwhile have also been touring the country. Including Sunak turning up in one of the poorest places in England by train wearing a £750.00 backpack. Is that a gaff by the present Prime Minister? Certainly, the irony was spotted and not lost by news outlets. The Liberal-Democrats, SNP, and Greens are also promoting themselves. You then have George Galloway's 'Workers Party of Britain and Richard Tice's Reform UK.

There will be TV broadcasts of the party leaders arguing their cases to convince you to vote for them. Of course, short of a massive upset and in the limitations of our 'First Past The Post' system, there will only be two men who can become Prime Minister. It will either be a reelected Rishi Sunak or a newly elected Keir Starmer.

Amongst the population, there seems to be an apathy when it comes to politics. People are fed up with backing parties both Labour and Conservative. Parties that promise much and deliver little. Certainly, over the 14 years of this Tory government, this has been the case. I will not bore you with what the Tories have done. You can see all around you the deprivation, poverty, etc, that the policies the 5 Tory Prime Ministers have created.

The Worker's Party of Britain has one elected MP so far. That is George Galloway representing Rochdale, in the north-west of England. Galloway has also been a colourful character and His current tenure in parliament is no different. Reform UK has one current sitting MP Lee Anderson, who defected from the Tories to Reform.

Both Reform UK and The Worker's Party of Britain are fielding candidates in many constituencies. It is the stated aim of Galloway's party that they want to replace Labour. No doubt, Richard Tice/Nigel Farage (who has chickened out of standing for Reform) want to replace the Conservatives. This could happen, especially if they do well given the limitations of the current voting system.
