Labour Party Extends Its Lead.

Tories Struggling.

Labour Leader: Sir Keir Starmer.

If Keir Starmer is looking at the latest polls commissioned by 'YouGov' for Sky News, He would have much to celebrate. Labour is now 27 points ahead of the Conservatives. This erases a small drop in the Labour lead at the end of last week.

Labour is 47%, Conservatives 20%, Lib Dems 9%, Reform 12%, Greens 7%, SNP 3%. Rishi Sunak's decision to call a general election on July 4th caught everyone on the hop. His decision to call a general election may be prompted because the economy appears to be picking up. Also, His Rwanda plan will be up and running but not before the general election. His thinking is if people can see these things then He may get re-elected. However, in the cold light of day, any light at the end of the tunnel for ordinary people might be a long time coming. Hence, Sunak is behind in the polls and struggling to regain the votes Boris had in 2019.

Labour is popular now amongst men and women all over the UK. Conversely, the Tories remain popular amongst those over 65 and those Arch-Brexiteers. Not surprising really as pensioners think and probably are safe under the Tories. As for Brexiteers, this vote will be split between the Conservatives and Reform UK.

Another reason why Labour are popular now is because people seem willing to give Labour a chance. People have given the Tories a chance over 14 years and they have abjectly failed. This government with its policies and 5 Prime Ministers with all its shenanigans like 'party gate' was and remains wholly unsuitable to be a government.

Rishi Sunak has never been voted in. He was the go character to become Leader and Prime Minister on the failed fag end of Liz Truss's debacle - Her failed mini-budget. The man who would stabilize the Tories and bring common sense to the fore. The first Hindu and non-Christian Prime Minister of the UK.

However, Sunak's premiership since 2021 has been embroiled in controversy. His wealth has courted controversy thanks largely to Rishi living on the coattails of His wife's fortune. His gaffs when He helped out in a foodbank saying to a man "I hear you have your own business"? The man He was serving said, "I want to start my own business but I'll be lucky to get through Christmas"! This shows the ignorance of Sunak who has never had to struggle as most of us have!

Sunak was part of Boris' corrupt regime despite the fact He tried to distance Himself. He was there laughing with Boris and the others when the rest of us were told to isolate and hunker down during the lockdown caused by the COVID pandemic.

The image Sunak likes to present is one of a clean, crisp, dynamic man, at the helm of a successful country. Sunak is the leader of a 'Broken Britain' to coin David Cameron's expression. The levelling up scheme supposed to level parts of the north and the midlands up has yet to see any dividends. No party is perfect but after 14 years of this stop-start Tory administration with its austerity and no direction, it's time for a change.

The Labour Party under Sir Keir are the party offering that change. If the polls are correct and Labour win the next election, they will have to enact policies to turn this country around.

The NHS is still on its knees, the current welfare system is not fit for a purpose, The UK's roads many with potholes are a disgrace, poverty and foodbanks are everywhere, and migration/immigration is an issue. I could go on, but I think you get the picture of how the UK is.
