Reasons Why People Vote For MAGA and Reform Even Though It Is Against Their Interests

Introduction

I did not want to write this.

I am writing this out of disgust at a British MAGA (That's Reform, bankrolled by foreign billionaires) taking over Sunderland Council. They also got 24 places on the Newcastle Council.

Reform is not a political party as such, they are a corporate body that has eight members in the British Parliament out of over six-hundred MPs. Despite this minuscule number, they are given blanket news coverage every day by the mainstream media.

Social media is bombarded by Bots as well, both for MAGA and Reform.

Reform has attracted many ex-Tory MPS to "fix Britain". This is the party that nearly destroyed the UK's economy with its austerity policies, pandering to corporations and big money, and selling off national assets (which started under Margaret Thatcher, who, with Reagan, caused the financial crash of 2008).

So, Why Do People Vote For Those That Will Make Their Lives Worse?

Since the mid-seventies when corporations were given free rein and corporate tax levels were driven down from 90% to around 15% now, with wage suppression built in, everyone outside of these has become more and more financially pressured.

In the seventies, you never talked about buying a house because everybody could; now you never talk about it because nobody can. Food banks were non-existent then; now they are the norm.

The problem is that all governments pander to money now, which includes the Labour government here and the Democrats in the USA.

They do not look after the people who are under incredible financial pressures, and those people are promised that everything will get better by the right-wing parties, who are promoted by the mainstream media.

They blame immigrants and non-whites for the problems that they face. Then, because the current party seems to be doing nothing to improve their lot, they think they will give this "new " party a try. The "new" does not give a toss about them, only to get their vote to give them power.

We have seen what happens in the land of the free when people like this get power, and the USA could facilitate World War III, but people still say, "Well, this lot aren't working, we'll try something new"

These are the Newcastle results, and two of the most deprived areas, Benwell and Blakelaw, have brought in Reform councillors. Byker and Arthur's Hill showed great sense, and one of my friends, Hedley Sugar-Wells, was voted in.

The Green Party, under the leadership of Zack Polanski are now the left-wing party who care for the people and the country.

Conclusion

I hope that the country sees sense and trashes the Reform Party, and ideally, eventually returns a true left-wing government.
