Race, Gender or the Economy?

TOGETHER! WE all went through the last couple of days, none of US knowing what way things would go. WE are people going through the same thing at the same time. Whatever society wants to call it, a PANDEMIC, EPIDEMIC, VIRUS, PLAGUE, BIBLE PROPHECY. Whatever you want to label it WE are dealing with it TOGETHER.

So many are unemployed, still waiting on benefits to be given. It has been 6 months since those applications have been submitted, and still being told it is being processed. The other day I read in that California's backlog was just under 900,000, and they are predicting that with four months they would be caught up. That is 13 months after a person applied for help. This is not just happening to Whites nor is it just Blacks, nor is it just Hispanics, Asians, everyone waiting are waiting TOGETHER.

What about Small businesses? it does not matter who owns them, THEY are being shut down. THEY are still waiting on loans that were promised back in April 2020. Visit the EIDL & PPP pages on Facebook you can see how everyone is working TOGETHER to update each other with new information about these loan programs. TOGETHER week after week give each other tips as to how to get the attention of the loan officers.

What about the frontline workers? THEY come TOGETHER every day to fight something they really know nothing about. They are trying to keep US all well, at the same time putting their families at risk. Granted there have been a few that have given them small bonuses, but as of November 1st that small $200 has ended. THEY should continue receiving some type of hazard pay, but it is something that must be approved by the powers that be. TOGETHER we need to find a way to make sure that THEY receive more money because everyday TOGETHER they are working for US.

What about the families with the school aged children? TOGETHER they are trying to assist their children in keeping up with the strenuous syllabus that THEY are being expected to follow. The frustration that parents deal with daily not being able to sign THEIR children into the system. What about those families that have special needs children? Those that suffer from ADD or ADHD, can you image THEIR struggle trying to keep those children seated in front of a computer for hours a day. TOGETHER they all are going through all these challenges every day.

What about OUR high school Seniors that must do their last year without any real celebrations? WE just went through this in June, no Proms, no Grad Nights, no Graduations. TOGETHER they are enduring these changing times. After working hard for the last 12 years what will THEY receive? Just a piece of paper stating "Completed".

What about the Senior Citizens in the world? This Pandemic hit them very hard, there were facilities were several passed away. We also have those that live alone, we have to pull TOGETHER, and remember them. In my neighborhood someone put together this shopping for seniors in the community. TOGETHER we did that. We have a community page where seniors can enter what they need, and a section where others can put when they would be going to the stores. We pulled TOGETHER keeping our seniors safe since the pandemic stated they were not safe being out in the public. This type of team effort allowed us to introduce ourselves to our neighbors, having a sense once again of the times we were young and knew everyone on our block. Most of us have been living here for years and did not even know the neighbor next door but pulling TOGETHER during this time has tighten our community.
