“Puppeteering” 101

The lesson I did not expect to learn...

Despite the varying squalls currently plaguing The United States and the endlessness of the Twitter-sphere now a void to your puppeteering, social media-less hands, you Mr President have taught me something I did not expect to learn. I see it fitting to clarify in advance that this is in no way a fan letter, nor is it one of hate. I am impartial to you and have interpreted the following lesson objectively with no admiration or malice.

In my humbly subjective opinion, “Puppeteering” aptly describes the way you have manipulated and toyed for benefit. Your polarising, abrupt and discriminatory comments are a deliberate ploy to place yourself in headlines because as we all know, so infamously so: “Any publicity is good publicity”. Saying something so polarising it will incite hatred AND rally support is “win-win” when seeking attention and I believe puppeteering has subsequently transitioned into fields such as popular music culture as a means for self-promotion. Unfortunately when this screaming out for attention, “get rich quick scheme” meets wide-spread, technology induced, generational insecurity, we are left with whatever it is you call people on social media these days.

The discrimination and utter nonsense aside, I am equally impressed and disappointed with how you used puppeteering to “Trojan Horse” your way into the White House. Impressed to see a different method win the presidential race in a 21st century climate, and disappointed that enough people in enough American states were won over to the point of voting Trump.

Given the opportunity I would choose not to meet you. Although I do not hate you. People today are too quick to hate with no reliable source of supporting evidence. People get their news and worldly updates from social media click-bait pages. When it comes to politics, I feel the majority of people (more specifically millennials) do not care enough to research objective facts to guide their decision and unfortunately do not realise that this is in fact undermining the essence of democracy. The apparent foundation upon which our western society rests. We do not believe our vote counts, when in fact it is all that should.

This should be an open letter competition to someone like Barak Obama, Bernie Sanders or Elon Musk. As your Presidency ends, we should be lessening the energy we give to you by talking less about you. Meeting Former President Barak Obama, Bernie Sanders or Elon Musk would give me unparalleled insight into the workings of a truly noble individual that strives to better the world and does so with impenetrable integrity and selfless vigour to better people lives. This should be the ideal outcome of the democratic system.

In my home country of Australia, I often wonder if the current political system and distinguished elected officials best represent the people. It seems as though something is lost between the opinions of everyday Australians and the statistics used and decisions made in Government. Whether that be because of a lack of general education about politics and current issues that Australia faces or because people just don’t have enough faith in the system and see the suit and tied, governmental, six figure salary world as some distant impregnable land that makes decisions for us.

I have worked for an Australian Government Department and I do truly believe that they act in our best interest. As you know, Governing National Departments carry the responsibility of so many varying issues that I suspect it could be possible that peoples opinions and statistics change too quickly to have an accurate real-time impact on policy. This ineffectiveness could possibly be an issue in The United States and in any country without real-time data analysis. This should be the foundation of Governmental decisions and policy changes so to best address issues with accurate and current statistics.

Another issue I believe is handicapping my country is the undisputed vice grip mainstream media has on such malleable public opinion. I feel this is the root of the issue in Western Countries and all we can do about it is educate ourselves through sources of objective information and turn off our televisions. It seems as though the need for television program ratings supersede objectivity, integrity and truth when delivering the news to the masses. I understand in every position there is a balance of idyllic outcomes and realistic capabilities, because as you know i’m sure, everything always boils down to money.

Thank you for teaching me the art of puppeteering, and I hope that you use the next chapter of your journey for good, and to find redemption. Not just for your public image, but for yourself. Anyone who appreciates success understands and knows failure, and I believe it is never too late for redemption.

So please transition peacefully, quietly and in pursuit of positivity for others and for yourself. Repent and seek forgiveness and you will be forgiven.
