UK's Foreign Secretary: Sir David Cameron.

When David Cameron ended His political career He probably thought as did the rest of us, that was the end of His career. Cameron believed that the rest of His life would be memoirs, after dinner talks, and appearing with the UK's former Prime Ministers at ceremonies like the Cenotaph during 'Remembrance Sunday'.

Current Prime Minister Rishi Sunak brought him out of retirement to be Foreign Secretary. This is the peculiar thing about the British political system. Sunak made Cameron a Lord, to sit in the House of Lords. That then enabled David Cameron to be a Sir, so he could then serve as the UK's Foreign Secretary. Even though David Cameron is no longer an MP voted in by the public because he is a lord now he can serve as a minister in the Sunak administration.

David Cameron of late has been dealing with what to do about Iran. In particular, the regime's armed forces besides Iran's official armed forces. The I R G C or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Just as the SS was a private army for the Nazi regime besides the Wehrmacht so it with the I R G C and the regular Iranian forces.

Of late, Iran's proxies in the Middle East Hezbollah, Houthis, and others in Syria and Iraq have been attacking both Israeli and Western targets. Their mantra is to help out Hamas or the Gazans as they face the onslaught of Israel. Iran itself has fired missiles at Iraq, and Syria. The Iranian Navy along with the naval faculties of the I R G C have also been attacking and capturing ships linked to Israel and its Allies.

The West imposed more sanctions on Iran after its recent military activities. Others asked the UK to proscribe Iran's I R G C as a terrorist organisation. However, Cameron said to do so would be wrong. Cameron said the existing sanctions on the Islamic Republic and the new sanctions are enough.

David Cameron believes that if the UK as the US styled the I R G C as a terrorist group then the door of contact between Iran and the UK might be slammed shut. We talk to regimes even if we consider them the most vile on the planet. And, Iran certainly along with Russia, China, and North Korea is up there. The Western democracies in many ways are not perfect either but perhaps our people have greater freedom or do they? Certainly, in the last few years, our range of freedom of speech has been lessened.

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian welcomed Cameron's idea of not designating The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp. Winston Churchill a fellow Conservative like Cameron agree with him or not, said: "Jaw jaw is better than war war".

The West does not want war with Iran or any of its proxies. The West does not want a full-blown war between Iran and Israel. However, there have been fears among nations that the US would be dragged into an all-out war with Iran by Israel. However, seeing as Iran's missile attack on Israel was largely useless and Israel's response was light on Iran it seems neither the Jewish State nor The Islamic Republic (Iran) wants a full-scale war either. Both nations know how destructive that would be and might end them both as we know them. It is also possible the US and others leaned on Israel and Iran not to do anything that might spark that horrendous war.

Iran and its regime want to survive as it faces internal pressures and external ones. A war might end the Iranian regime that has been in power since 1979. Internal rebels of the regime of the Ayatollahs might take the law into their own hands if they see the regime is on the verge of collapse. So it is with some common sense that Iran has stepped back. Preferring to use Hezbollah and others to fight Israel.

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu on the other hand may not want a full-scale war with Iran. However, he will want to keep the war going as far as he can with Hamas. It is political survival for him as the war ending could bring him down. Many Israelis hate him and want him to face justice for his crimes. Netanyahu is currently speaking in two ways. One he says he is open to a forty-day ceasefire with Hamas and yet he is still threatening to attack Rafah. Then internally Netanyahu is facing pressure from the fascist elements in his war cabinet. Should he do something that these far-right thugs don't like his alliance with them could fall.
