Observations On Labour's Victory

Introduction

In the UK on election day we finally saw the decimation of a party that has destroyed the infrastructure of this country, used the taxpayer to line its pockets, continually attacked and bullied the sick, the poor, and ethnic nationalities, promoted xenophobia, and hopefully, the Labour Party can start to repair the absolute mess left by the right-wing incompetent criminals also know as the conservatives (with the accent on CON) and the tories.

Irish peasantry used the term Tory to refer to an outlaw or a miscreant of any kind into the 19th century.

But Beware

I only started taking an interest in politics in the 1970s but I can now see how the electorate can be easily manipulated and in a supposedly democratic society vote in politicians who will destroy their lives, and they will believe they are doing the right thing.

Part of this is a lack of knowledge and education, combined with the belief that the media tells the truth.

Looking back while I knew that Thatcher and Reagan were bad, I did not realise how evil they were.

Reagan's adoption of the Project 2025 Manifesto and Thatchers' houshold "balance the books" economics combined with the destruction of the Unions resulted in wage suppression and removal of banking controls implemented after the Wall Street Crash which eventually culminated in the financial crash of 2008.

As part of Thatcher's inept economic policies she sold off Britain's infrastructure, mostly created by Labour after the war, to "balance the books". The point of a government is not to balance the books but to keep the economy moving and and ensure that the population is cared for and encouraged, to create growth as a nation.

In 2010 the Tories came to power because Labour were blamed for causing the Economic crash which was instigated by Thatcher and Reagan's incompetence and pandering to the super-rich and corporations. The banks had been bailed out by the government (and therefore taxpayers) but the incoming Tory government imposed a regime of austerity making the lowest paid carry the burden of bankers' incompetence facilitated by Thatcher and Reagan's dropping of restrictions.

If you look at Republican and Tory economic performance it's a case of destroying the economy, which is then left to Labour and Democrats to revive while the Tories/Republicans and their media blame the left-wing parties for the mess they (the right-wing) created and the electorate is gullible enough to vote them back in and the whole cycle starts again.

More To Worry About

The current Tory government have targeted ethnic minorities and blamed them for all the ills that Tory incompetence and spite have caused. They are stumbling towards right-wing fascism, and I am shocked that Nigel Farage (pronounced Farridge because this xenophobic mendacious creep would not want a French pronunciation of his name) has been elected to Parliament hand his Fascist Party has gained four seats and over four million votes. That is four million voters in the UK who would vote for Trump or Hitler were they to stand here.

Conclusion

I am elated that Labour are now in government in the UK but they say that the road to fascism is paved with people telling us to stop over-reacting. I am sure that most Germans did not see the rise of the Nazis until it was too late.

While we are relatively safe under the Labour government, it worries me that people will start to blame Labour for the mess that the Tories created and vote them back in at the next election.
