Empty Playground

A time of reflection...

Looking at the empty playground reminds me how much COVID- 19 has stolen from our Summer plans. For the most part, we have succeeded in living our best life despite the Coronavirus; however, there is no replacement for high school graduation and Senior prom and the pure enjoyment of children playing on the playground. We can try to re-create some of those moments at a later date, but that authentic feeling will not be there for those people who stay out all night cramming for a test at their universities Will never know the feeling of taking that stage aunt reaching out for their degrees and so forth. You Will never get these precious moments back; however, you are now free to create new memories and put your best face forward and have a positive effect on the world.

I believe that this pandemic is a wakeup call to make changes in our lives and the world. We are in 2020, and the Black community is still crying for equality, there is something drastically wrong with this picture. Police corruption has been well documented for centuries, and yet, the blue wall of silence stands today. That serves as a reminder that we need to make it harder for people to become police officers, perhaps more in-depth psychological testing needs to be in order. After all, being a police officer in a position of authority and trust. We required police officers to make people adhere to be civil. We need a better way of selecting police officers so that we can live safely together. I believe that the Coronavirus is a wakeup call from whatever you want to call lt to remind us how fragile and fleeting life is and start realizing the effect we have one the people around us. Look at the disastrous impact we have on our planet. It took a pandemic to let our planet heal from our damaging effects from our ways of life. I mean, the Earth has been crying out for relief for centuries from the way we live, most of us did absolutely nothing. Only when we were forced inside by a life-threatening virus did the Earth start to heal. The great thing is it’s not too late to change our ways. We need to start treating each other better, and we need to do the same to the planet that we live in.

We have different groups of people still trying out for equality and the fundamental right to be treated just like any human being. Just because you are a being arrested for a crime does not being that way please officer has the right to cut off your air supply to the point of you suffocating. In Erie, Pennsylvania, a woman got kicked in the face by a police officer while sitting on the curb after being Pepper spray in the front during a protest for George Floyd. There are levels of force there are except during situations and levels of authority that or not acceptable. It sounds like the police need better training on how to assess conditions while keeping their tempers in check. While we recruit police officers, we need to find that way too sniff it out racism and the racist point of view.

I think Covid-19 is a wakeup call, and they reminded you that we are very much connected and not much separates us. Some of us came together, and other factions of society got torn apart. What I have learned from all of this to be we need to society that we claimed to be we need to take some giants steps forward.
