Fake News Syndrome (FNS) is a deadly virus invading the lives of Americans. Its domination has outcomes that are potentially severe and deadly.

We must learn the facts and distribute information to save ourselves from the deception, greed, and financial harms of false information.

Signs of infection from FNS

Begin the process of healing by diagnosing the signs of infection. If you have more than three of the following, implement strategies to strengthen your immune system.

  • Coughing up fallacies
  • Confused by mucus in the mind
  • Making sudden decisions without input from multiple sources
  • Limited ability to think critically
  • Drooling uncontrollably at the mouth with nonsense

Strategies to strengthen the immune system against FNS

Stretch mind muscles

Building mind muscles by reading keeps the brain flexible and open to new ideas. Because the written word requires interpretation and evaluation, research proves greater impact on muscle conditioning than the sedentary act of watching TV.

Increase circulation

Intellectuals who discuss ideas and intake different points of view stimulate brain development. If a brain has poor circulation, bad decisions swell and overtake coherent thought causing a body to fatigue.

Plan balanced meals

Read articles in their entirety to build concentration and provide the body a balanced diet of information. Refrain from snacking on bits of isolated information for it may be easy to swallow but can cause future digestive complications.

Complete information downloads

It is easy to become lax, prompting individuals to scan material or rely on talking points. When partial information is consumed, a person becomes misinformed. Furthermore, endurance combats the slow onset of mind manipulation. Be wary of consuming only headlines because bait-and-switch is a common practice in media.

Relaxation techniques

A clear mind develops with an increase in blood flow, allowing the mind to function at optimal capacity. Research proves breathing activities induce a positive mindset, decrease emotional responses, increases memory and prompt sound decision making. Meditation and long walks are recommended.

Stages of decline in people affected by FNS

Stage 1 — Mild denial of facts

At this stage, a patient shows few signs of infection but has been in contact with the disease and should be monitored closely. Critical thinking abilities are compromised, prompting acceptance of false information .

Stage 2 — Moderate inflammation of brain cells

Symptoms during stage 2 are easier to identify. Interventions can reverse the damage caused by the infection. Seek medical assistance if signs continue for more than seven days or worsen.

  • Patient switches TV channels less and seems addicted to one side of political viewpoints.
  • Consistently shakes head in agreement with irrational ideas that are presented without support and not corroborated by facts.
  • Forcefully repeats news without investigating other points of view.

Stage 3 — Severe loss of ability for original thought

For a layperson to diagnosis a patient at this stage, watch for an increase in aggressive behavior. Patients will begin to express ideas that are new to their way of thinking or show signs of not thinking at all.

  • Multiple perspectives are ignored.
  • Logical thinking becomes nonexistent in daily conversations.
  • Increased isolation from people of different views.
  • Patient begins posting false claims on social media.

Stage 4 — Extremely Severe ideologies

When the following symptoms are evident, seek assistance immediately.

  • Subject becomes unable to think for themselves and shows no ability to filter facts from opinions.
  • Accepts everything presented by the dominate news platform, repeats information as facts and constantly begins statements with, “The guy on the TV said. . .”
  • Talks of storming the Capital Building.

Strategies to heal

If you or a loved one is diagnosed with FNS there is hope for recovery. The following strategies have proven effective. However, a professional should be consulted if symptoms worsen or there is limited progress to logical thinking.

  • Establish a balanced diet of information from across a spectrum of sources.
  • Avoid overindulgence of one train of thought as addiction and brainwashing has resulted.
  • Limit biased sources.
  • Intake high fiber news from accredited sources.
  • Avoid congregating with others afflicted by FNS.
  • Reduce portions of information consumption so the body can digest facts. It is essential the body is provided time to filter toxic details.
