We have generally eight types of emotions. These are fear, anger, disgust, shame and sadness, trust, excitement and surprise. Among these fear, anger, disgust, shame and sadness are called survival emotions. Trust/love and excitement/joy are called attachment emotions. Surprise is called the potentiator because it is responsible for flipping a response state from survival to attachment and from attachment to survival state.

Attachment emotions are prevalent in the animal kingdom as well. Almost in every living being, the love between child and parents is vividly evident. Animals do not have language and they can not express their feelings. But they live in a group and fight together against foreign enemies. They build their habitat, collect food and store those for the worst days. They hardly dispute among themselves over the distribution of their own portions. At least this is for sure that they never kill a member of their own groups. Almost in every species, the general tendency of saving a child is found in each mother, replicating the greatest example of love and trust.

There is no denying the fact that people are becoming more disperse and lonely with the advent of new technologies. Such types of occasions are also of immense importance to bind humanity with love and trust. People also need to form and join in groups that are non-economical in nature, devoid of personal interests and only focus on joy, excitement, love and trust which will make their life more meaningful, worthy and fulfilling. Moreover, economic units should have their own way of practicing emotional attachments among the people as well.

All great creations on the planet are inspired by love, joy, excitement and trust. The contributions of a huge number of people have made those possible. All the material creations are by the people, of the people and for the people. At the end of the day, each creation leads human lives to a new path of convenience and efficiency. Each endeavor requires a lot of hard work, human energy and time. when an individual starts to imagine betterment for the human race, great things start to happen. The effect of love, joy in learning is immense. The portion of the brain that deals with cognitive abilities work more effectively when positive emotions are aligned with the thinking mechanism. On the other hand, learning under fear, anger, disgust does not last long and can not bear fruit for better results. It is a proven truth that individuals living in great attachment emotions have been able to transform themselves even in tough adverse situations like poverty, hunger, financial difficulties etc. History is not scanty to testify hundreds of times that only the love of mothers has created thousands of great minds across the globe in all ages. Most of us know the story of Thomas Alva Edison whose talent was first discovered and nurtured by his mother in his early childhood when he was rejected and neglected in his educational institutions multiple times. Being inspired by his mother, he never gave up. Now we all know that how much he has contributed to human civilizations.
Attachment in a Battlefield: What will Happen If the Leader Tries to Flee First?
A leader's supreme ability is tested on a battlefield where his/her confidence to win totally depends on his/her attachment with his/her disciples. If one nurtures that value for long, establishes that principle, one can stay in the field for long and continue the fight because that leader has the courage to aspire the victory till the end. But if the leader is not attached, s/he does not know where he is going along with his/her followers. The end result is confusion, chaos and failure. That is why a true leader never leaves the field until s/he dies or wins.
