7 Ways I Release & Manage My Emotions

Life has a funny way of showing you what shit you need to work on in life and for me it all became very apparent when my partner came home and said she wanted to end things.

My whole world turned upside down, and all these feelings and emotions where showing up all at once which I had suppressed and ignored throughout my adult life, having uncontrollable panic attacks because my body and mind just didn't know what else to do.

As time progressed, I was uncovering more and more about what I was ignoring and what I numbed myself out to. I was living a life which was 'easy' I guess, one where I didn't have to do much and one where I stayed within constant annoying patterns.

The problem I was having is that my conscious brain wanted to do all these amazing things but it was never happening and I started to ask why. Asking why do I act or behave a certain way helped me uncover beliefs and traits of myself that I had ignored for so many years and doing this pushed me to try new experiences which lead me to discovering and learning;

Emotional Freedom Technique - also known as tapping allows you to release emotion that you have stored in your body over the years tapping on your meridian ends, if your not sure what EFT is, imagine it being similar to acupuncture, but rather than putting needles in your body, your using your hand/fingers to tap and release and also remember your emotions.

Breathwork - an incredible experience and if i'm honest was the complete game changer for me, it broke me open completely showing me what I needed to work on and able to release the emotional trauma I was holding onto. I am now trained in this filed and offering free sessions so do get in touch if interested, check out more here.

Ho'oponopono - Hawaiian healing, is a technique that essentially is asking you to take full responsibility for everything in your life and I mean everything. You then ask for forgiveness, saying sorry, thank you and I love you. This technique is a great combination with breathwork.

Neuro-linguistic Programming - Diving into your subconscious and re programming your beliefs. All about bringing about changes in perception, responsible communication and developing choices of responses or communication in a given situation. NLP works on the principle that everyone has all the resources they need to make positive changes in their own life

German New Medicine - This one is a bit out there for most people but I truly believe in it. It's saying that you create your own disease and injuries in life and your body has the power to heal on it's own without medical help if you are able to release the core emotional root cause.

Hiring a personal coach/mentor - again another game change for me to make me accountable and offering techniques, advice and guidance.

Loads of; audio books, podcasts and shows including 'Rewired' by Joe Dispenza

My desire to understand and take full responsibility of the situation rather than my usual habits of blaming and shutting/running away helped me to uncover what was and is going on with me. I'm not going to sugar coat it for you, yes it was scary and overwhelming at times but when you get through the other end it's a magical feeling of release and the connections you start to have with old and new relationships is incredible, your view on the world changes, the possibilities become endless and you feel empowered to achieve your dreams.

My journey is still continuing, evolving and always will until the day I die.
