Not suitable for Rijkaard, but also by Jose Mourinho early release, the Premier League golden boot is delayed by football

Expect him to be an all-round centre-forward like Kluivert.

The number of goals, of course, is an important criterion to measure the strength of the striker, but it is definitely not the only criterion. I don't know how many strikers with high goalscoring efficiency have been relegated to the bench by team-mates who are not as efficient. Premier League golden Boot Hasselbaink, for example, is the most typical example:

Jimmy Hasselbaink was born in Suriname on March 27, 1972. When he was about five years old, his parents divorced, and young Hasselbaink followed his mother to Holland.

The combination of divorced parents, emigres, and skin color meant that Hasselbaink's own childhood was not hard to imagine. Just enough to eat, not enough to expect to have any spare cash.

Against this background, it is not surprising that Hasselbaink, as a child, did not receive formal football training. As a result, Hasselbaink's style of football is typical of the wild way. His individual ability is really outstanding and he can score goals on his own. Corresponding to this is, Hasselbaink in the match, pass, screen and other aspects, there are obvious defects. Expect him to be an all-round centre-forward like Kluivert.

The lack of proper football training as a child affected not only Hasselbaink's style of play, but his entire career. In his early days, many teams gave Hasselbaink a chance, but he has not received formal training, it is difficult to understand the manager's intentions, it is difficult to implement the manager's tactics. As a result, Hasselbaink, with his talent, did not make a name for himself until 1995, when he was 23. Let alone making a name for himself, it's hard to even play for a professional team. He had to leave Holland to seek opportunities in Portugal. However, even at Camp Mayor, in Portugal's second division, Hasselbaink spent two seasons on the bench.

Fortunately, Hasselbaink is in luck. With Camp Mayor promoted to the Portuguese Super League, he finally got his chance and got a lot of playing time.

At this point, some of your friends may wonder how Campemayor, who did not use Hasselbaink when they were playing in the second division, could possibly see him in a different light after promotion to the Portuguese Premier League.

The reason is simple, because with the quality of Camp Mayor, when they were in the second division, they could play attacking football, so at that time they needed more of that type of striker. Once in the Portuguese Super League, however, it became clear that Campemayor could not afford to play attacking football and had to play counter-attacking. And individual combat ability is very strong Hasselbaink, is undoubtedly the best candidate for the team's defensive counterattack tactics.

In this way, Hasselbaink got a lot of appearances, and scored a number of wonderful goals. This brought him to the attention of other clubs and he moved to Boa Vista in the summer of 1996. Another year later, in the summer of 1997, Hasselbaink made another switch and moved to Leeds United.

Although Hasselbaink's start in the Premier League was not smooth, but he has finally adapted to the pace of the Premier League after half a year. Thus, in the second half of the league, Hasselbaink's goal after goal, successfully proved his strength.

The following season, 1998-99, Hasselbaink scored 18 league goals, putting him on a par with Michael Owen and Yorke in the Premier League scoring charts for the Golden Boot.

After winning the Premier League Golden Boot, Hasselbaink's fame is growing and his team is following him more and more. Atletico Madrid, one of La Liga's oldest clubs, spent a lot of money to bring the Premier League's golden boot to La Liga in the summer of 1999.

Since arriving in La Liga, Hasselbaink has continued to maintain his good form. He scored 24 league goals, second only to Alvaro Salva, and won the La Liga silver Boot. But his club Atletico were relegated...

As an aside, for some reason or other, Hasselbaink has always been claimed to be the Golden Boot winner of La Liga in 1999-00. In fact, the Dutch striker is actually the silver boot because Salva has scored 27 goals. There is no reason why 24 is bigger than 27.

At this time Hasselbaink, left hand Premier League golden boot, right hand La Liga silver boot. Surely a goalscorer of that efficiency would have been included in the national squad anyway, and accompanied by his team on the international stage?

In fact, the Netherlands coach Frank Rijkaard, even the substitute places are not willing to give Hasselbaink. The Dutch legend did not include the Premier League's golden boot in his squad for Euro 2000. The Black Swan would rather take van Hoydonk than take Hasselbaink.

It was not that Rijkaard had any personal grudge against Hasselbaink, it was simply that Hasselbaink's style of play did not suit Rijkaard. In the view of the "Black Swan", the wild way of Hasselbaink can only rush forward, not like Kluivert general back to get the ball, not able to participate in the team's overall attack, is not suitable for the total defensive tactical system...

What do you mean by the wind? This is the perfect example.

Helpless Hasselbaink, can only vent his anger to the club's games. He left relegated Atletico for Chelsea and did a ton of damage in the Premier League. In 2000-01, Hasselbaink's first season back in the Premier League, the Dutch striker scored 23 league goals to win the Golden Boot again. Over the next few seasons, Hasselbaink continued to score well for Chelsea.

When Jose Mourinho arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2004, the Portuguese coach apparently did not appreciate Hasselbaink's style of play and was not even willing to give him a place on the bench. As a result, Psy released Hasselbaink from Chelsea with one year left on his contract.

Psy's early release of Hasselbaink so early in his career was clearly not a grudge match, but simply the wrong style of play. You know, Psy at that stage, his preferred striker, was Didier Drogba who could benefit the whole attacking system. This and Rijkaard reuse Kluivert, abandoned Hasselbaink's operation, is simply the same.

Hasselbaink scored 13 league goals in a Middlesbrough shirt in 2004-05. Chelsea's main striker Didier Drogba, on the other hand, has scored only 10 goals - and Hasselbaink's contribution seems to be greater than Drogba's if you look at the goal statistics alone. But does anyone really think there is something wrong with Mourinho's selection?

So, let's face it, Hasselbaink, the golden boot, was delayed by his style, his lack of fitness for Frank Rijkaard and his early release by Jose Mourinho, all of which were related to his style of play. It's just that his plight is truly sympathetic. After all, it's not really his fault that he had no formal training as a child.
