No to, Cuss words, Debauchery and turpitude on media

I am taking a stand in 2022. Encouraging peace and love on TV, cable, movies, everywhere, instead of bad language and impropriety

I want the age of innocence back. For our children and for the sanity of the human race to be preserved.

Fair warning, This is my one woman petition to ban cursing and what amounts to pornography from the everyday and the usual, and return them to the domain that once was their playground.

I have lately found some time on my hands to enjoy more television and movies. I am however, mortified and shocked at the vast amount of psychological sensory deprivation that I had to incur upon my mind, to try to un-see what I am seeing.

Have writers, producers, directors and whomever else, gone totally insane. Do they not have children, especially young ones. Worse yet, what happened to their audience. Are we stuck living in The Matrix, from which we have lost all control of our morals and the right to protest. Or, do we just NOT CARE anymore.

In the end, it really comes down to audience appeal. They figured out that each has to offer more of the same, and be more gory than their rival. They figured out that we the people want and need the horror in order to survive.

WE NEED TO PROVE THEM WRONG. I am a lone voice, crying in the wilderness of lost causes.

Feel free to join me. I make my stand alone or together. Together would be better. But if not 'Se La Vie', that's life.

It is my belief that everything has it's own unique beauty, but everything needs to be appreciated in it's own atmosphere. Let us allow beauty to be accepted by each individual in the arena of their choice.

Do people really have to pay these cable and social networks to have their delicate senses be bombarded by cursing and extreme violence, and their eyes being constantly seared with the images of adult and teenage sexual images. Is that the lesson that we want to teach young people. That what was once done behind closed doors, should now be done in the open for all to see.

AM I BEATING A DEAD HORSE? Seriously hoping (again metaphorically) that it will return to life and allow for changes?

There was a time when government organizations censored and regulated the actions of , broadly speaking, everyone. What happened? Did all the people with common sense retire or worse, die.

The young are not being allowed to be just young, to enjoy their youth in the wonder of innocence, and being gradually educated in the nuances of growing from childhood to adulthood. They are being bombarded with enough adult stuff, at a tender age, to rot their minds and willfully erode their memory of their tender years.

I am left wondering about what they then have to look forward to in later years, if they have already learnt it all before their brains were ready to assimilate what lies in store for them. Will they not grow bored and disappointed with their lives?. By the time they are twenty one years old, they would have done it all, seen it all. Then it will be as the saying goes 'rinse and repeat', repeatedly, leading to a life of dullness and doldrums, stagnation and depression.

It appears that there is a serious competition on networks as to who can be more obnoxious and rude, and allow for licentious behavior.

So, I may seem a tad prudish. But, when did we cross that line between porn and extreme cussing being relegated to it's own domain. Specifically to movies, television, whatever and whomever about porn, violence and cursing.

I used to enjoy watching British shows and movies, particularly because they have Sherlock Holmes and such. But, to me there was that element where I could be assured of far less profanity, and the relaxation and calm of enjoying a restful, stress-free and entertaining downtime by watching a movie, or a show or two after a hard tumultuous day.

Now, the British are cussing.

Now the British have tons of porn in media.

Woe is me.

Every network, everywhere.

"What was hidden from the wise and prudent, is now revealed to the babe and suckling."

OMG! I am really too mature to be saying OMG!, but OMG!

I mean, why are the parents not up in arms about this horrific development. I am questioning this with much perplexity.

WHY!

It is really heartbreaking to me when I pass young people on the streets or on the busses, and hear them cursing and swearing as if it is a natural part of their vocabulary.

I know the word slips out of the mouths of many people, some only under their breaths, like me sometimes when I am upset (I am not an angel), but it should not be the norm for everyone.

Words, sights and sounds matter.

The proverbial washing out of mouths with soap and water is, again, on the table.

Say the word LOVE, it makes you feel warm and tingly all over. Now say the word HATE, it engenders tiny feelings of anger. Say the much more powerful 'bad word', and you just feel frustrated.

In my humble observation, should we not be more open to bandying around more words like:

PEACE

LOVE

UNITY

TOGETHERNESS

MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR

Is it just me, or did it all get a lot worse after the Pandemic hit. Maybe it is just me. Maybe I am just paying more attention now.

Yes, I agree, my age is showing. My eyes and ears hurt metaphorically.

You know it is really bad when the twelve and thirteen years old in your household run away or fast forward past all the drudge, and groans an "oh no, not again!".

One may not intentionally mean to expose the younger children to these experiences, but seriously, it is just everywhere. The opening scene of a TV show or movie that you thought was PG13 or 15, or an animated picture that you have no idea why it is remotely necessary to have lascivious scenes being portrayed.

I know that we are all cussing and swearing a lot more since the Pandemic has heaped a world of pain, stress and agony on the heads of us all. That is the really important reason why we need more positivity in the subliminal images that encompasses our everyday lives.

Constantly showing violence, sexual content and cursing, in my opinion, only makes a bad situation more volatile.

These emotions are naturally a part of our lives. I understand that the content of material required by these media needs to be included in the whole scenario, in order to accurately mimic everyday lives, I agree, that this is real life. But, being inundated and overwhelmed by the same images every day, is seriously akin to torture and being hypnotized by life.

But, can we not just hint at these things that are disturbing, by it's ability to become so prolific, that our minds and souls become inured and tired by the many and varied images that should be bared only behind closed doors, and at the discretion of the individuals involved. Can we not involve the whole world in what should really be private matters.

It can be argued that the Technological age, supposedly moving us forward, is really taking us back to the stone age, when we just used a club to knock out the man or woman of our preference and take them home. Here is my wife or husband, and that was that (that may or may not have happened). I am just trying to paint a dire picture of where we are heading.

unscrupulous individuals may be mimicking the events of films and using the same tactics to reign terror on unsuspecting innocent, and maybe not so innocent people.

The best entertainment is the one that leaves you feeling that the end was justified and pleasing. That the content was well meaning and mostly free from unnecessary images. It does not have to be displeasing to the senses to be enjoyable. You may be surprised if you polled people, and got their reactions. Or I may be surprised. It is a toss up.

The recent events unfolding around the world is proof of a world poised on the brink of natural or man made implosion and explosion of anger and frustration.

We need the illumination of more love, kindness and sharing to return us to what has always been our dream for mankind.

We live in the hope of joy to the world. Peace again shall reign.
