A precursor to readers of what is coming.

For those who have already found my writing and have enjoyed it, or those in the future who come across these pieces, I would like to begin with an explanation.

I write poetry to express my thoughts in a collected medium. As of now my mind is a relatively turbulent place, having experienced events which experts have classified as 'traumatic' from a very young age. While others may work through this trauma through art or music, I choose to accept it through writing.

Recently I have begun to accept the more major end of these traumatic events, and the past few days have had me look my harshest fears and suffering in the eyes for the first time. To that end, I have decided to write a collection rather than many one off pieces. I will be publishing this collection here on Vocal so that all who come across it may learn and grow second hand through my experiences, without having to live through the things that have driven me to these thoughts. Not only that, but I hope that anyone who has experienced similar traumas can find some solace and empathy in these writings, and that they may help you along your own healing journey.

Having stated my purpose for these writings, I would like to next warn readers for what my come. Some of these writings will contain topics that can be seriously triggering. Having been triggered to relive traumatic events myself, I know the pain that comes with it, so I would like to clarify what some of the topics these writings may contain are. While I do not know yet how directly I will address each of these topics, there will likely be references to sexually traumatic events, self harm, suicidal thoughts and actions, physical assault, and finally medical trauma.

I do not wish to scare any readers off with that warning; again, I do not yet know how far in depth I will be addressing those topics, but I plan to reference all of them at some point, and I would rather not be causing anyone more suffering with the work that I hope will act as a catalyst for healing.

Additionally, I want to state that there will detailed retellings of stories involving of a group of people whom I believe is the most sick and twisted class of criminals to walk the earth. Vocal states in their publication guidelines that writers should not push personal beliefs on readers, so I will not go to far into my stance on these people, but I would like to say that it is my opinion that 'people' who take advantage of those weaker than them or those who trust them are the worst type of people to walk our planet, and deserve to be put in the place of their victims so that they may experience the pain they cause. Now that I have vented enough, back to the serious introduction.

In terms of how to find these works, I am not entirely sure of what I am going to title it yet. On my profile, though, you will likely be able to recognize them through a number in parenthesis following the title. That will be their position in the collection at the time of writing.

In conclusion, I hope that whatever walk of life you come from, these writings can aid you in some way. Whether that be comfort in knowing that there are others who share your experiences, a looking glass to view the world through someone else's eyes, or even just a glance into what other's lives are like. Thank you for reading.
