How To Turn Your Life Around In 3 Simple Steps

Learn how to become mindful and stay in control of your emotions, thoughts and feelings

Mindfulness is the greatest tool to becoming your highest quality self. But what is mindfulness?

To practise mindfulness, you must learn to become aware of your emotions and thoughts that flow through your mind. The best way to do this is through meditation.

Meditation slows everything down. It brings you to your centre and aids you in creating an awareness surrounding your thoughts and environment.

If you're new to this practice, I recommend guided meditations. Pick a spot in your home or outside where it's quiet. Light a scented candle. Sit down or lay on your back with your legs in the air and relax your shoulders. Take a moment to think about your breathing and listen to your guided meditation. It's okay if other thoughts still creep into your mind. That's normal. You'll soon get better at controlling them and being able to focus on the meditation.

Through meditations, you'll learn to become more aware of your thoughts and how to manage them. You will learn to figure out the source of negative thoughts and how to counteract them.

Affirmations are another great way to improve your thinking. If you're a negative individual who often suffers from negative thoughts and emotions the best way to turn that around is by listening to and repeating affirmations.

If you want to start with something small try this affirmation:

I am wonderful, I am beautiful, the people in my life are so lucky to have me, I am perfect exactly as I am, I love myself.

Even if you don't believe it, just say it every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to sleep. Say it enough times until you believe it. Fake it until you become it.

After enough practice with meditation and affirmations, you will teach your inner voice to transform itself into a positive one. You'll start to improve your experience with your mind and yourself.

Have you ever noticed you would never dare to talk down to another person the way you talk down to yourself? Then why would you put yourself down if you wouldn't to someone else? Treat yourself the way you'd treat others.

Being positive will attract positive results through law of attraction. If you want to live your best life you need to learn to live freely within yourself and be at peace. Meditation can help you do this.

However, if you're looking for something free there are loads of meditations available on youtube and they're great for beginners.

Eventually, through lots of meditation, you will notice yourself becoming mentally strong and that is your aim. Once you become mentally strong you'll get through anything.

Want to change your life through education? Reading books is one of the most powerful tools we have as humans. There is a book for absolutely everything. Heartbreak, there's a book. Hair falling out, there's a book. Honestly, I think you'd find it hard not to find a book on something. For any problem life throws at you I guarantee there is a book for it and I believe it can be better than therapy.

Books don't have feelings or opinions on your specific situation. It's like having this great advisor in your life without any criticism.

Reading is so important if you're wanting to develop new skills and better your thoughts. They can help you make yourself more aware of your negative emotions and discover the source of the thoughts and ultimately turn them into positive ones.

Once you can control your thoughts, you will then learn to be more in control of your emotions and conclusively your feelings.

Plagued with negative thoughts? Self-care is one of the best things you can do to improve your mood. Taking care of yourself is the most important thing in the world. How can you expect to be able to take care of someone else if you can't even take care of yourself?

At the end of the day, you are the only person you can rely on. That's why it is so important to be happy in yourself. Loving yourself unconditionally will lead to a better life and improve your confidence.

There are lots of self-care practices you can undertake. Some of my favourite things to do for myself are:

  • Meditation
  • Reading
  • Tarot card readings
  • Pilates
  • Yoga
  • Face-mask

I love to do all of these things whilst I have a candle burning with one of my favourite scents. It creates a warm and safe environment. These are things I do for myself and make me feel better. Once you start to practice a self-care routine on a daily basis you will improve your mood massively.

You need to dedicate some time each day to work on yourself otherwise you'll never see an improvement. Once you master all of these things I guarantee your life will change in a positive way. Life is way too short not to love the shit out of yourself!
