What is alcoholism? We know or pretend to know. Are we inclined to know? We are more inclined to the second assumption because many people know alcoholism as a sin, which makes the drinker laugh. He gets drunk, falls, rolls: an opportunity to laugh at others. But there is also a reason to cry.

We'll talk about that now. We want to show how alcoholism is a nuisance to society, how it degenerates the nation, destroys the family, and vices the individual.

Alcoholism is an intoxication through alcohol abuse. It doesn't matter what you drink. Beer or wine drinkers take refuge in the lower alcohol concentrations of these drinks.

It is a mistake because one can be an alcoholic even just drinking beer, one of the weakest alcoholic beverages. It all depends on the dose because one is to drink a pint of beer from time to time and another is to drink beer relentlessly, repeatedly God knows how many times!

And there is something else: individual resistance or non-resistance to the drink. One person cakes a cake (which proves that his nervous system is sensitive to alcohol) and drinks all night to "straighten" with alcohol at dawn.

Alcohol between use and abuse

But it is good to make a distinction between the use and abuse of wine and beer before entering the description of alcoholism because we took them as an example. The moderate use of wine is good for health and especially for the elderly who do not suffer from kidney, liver, or other diseases that prohibit alcohol consumption.

The most harmful alcoholic beverages are brandy, brandy, and liqueur specialties. In all this, he poisons not only the alcohol but also the essences contained in them. Man becomes an alcoholic when he feels the need to drink often. Most people drink sometimes, but they do not feel the urgent need to drink, to get the daily dose without which they are not able to work.

From this point on, when the "need" is felt, the drinker turns into an alcoholic, intoxicated. An alcoholic, in addition to the ills it causes, is also more likely to contract tuberculosis, for example. The association of alcohol and tuberculosis is fatal, just as the association of alcohol and syphilis leads straight to the hospital.

Alcohol madness

The alcoholic has no appetite. He has thirst, nausea, and vomiting in the morning. After the stomach is altered the liver which, poisoned, often "tightens". And slowly you get cirrhosis. The heart also suffers from alcohol degenerating and giving myocarditis.

Alcohol attacks amblyopia vision. Her voice is hoarse and her voice is altered, characteristic. However, all these complications are overcome by the nervous and mental disorders of alcoholism. Alcoholic polyneuritis, the most serious disease of the nerves due to alcohol, usually occurs in the feet causing the foot to fall, because the nerves being sick can no longer keep this part of the foot in a normal position. The patient walks because of this hunchback.

Polyneuritis is accompanied by great pain, which torments the lives of these patients. Finally, the mental disorders of alcoholism are the real collapse of the patient. First of all, the change of nature is noticed: the drunk becomes arrogant, quarrelsome. Then his morale decreases, he lies, cheats steals. He no longer has a sense of good and evil, he no longer knows honor, duty, humanity.

He beats his wife and children, he fights with everyone! Then comes the weakening of memory and intelligence, followed by the final phase: alcohol insanity. Unfortunately, the alcoholic must also contribute to his work of salvation, which is very difficult. Alcoholism, like any addiction, destroys the will. The drunk must "want" to be healed and most of the time he cannot get rid of this bad habit.

Safe treatment

What tortures alcoholics is anxiety and agitation. The chronic drunkard is in a state of continuous agitation which gives a false impression of activity. Gradually, this agitation intensifies, leading to convulsions known as "delirium tremens", which often put an end to suffering. Insomnia is another torment of the drunkard.

As soon as he closes his eyes, the frightening dreams begin. The drunkard's dream with animals is characteristic: mice that bite him, herds of angry buffaloes, horses in crazy studs that come at him. He didn't fall asleep and was immediately startled. The drunkard has no rest, no sleep, the true reward of the working man.

Consequently, the drunk will first have to calm down either by prolonged baths, or by medication, or even better by both. Finally, medicines and exemplary hygienic life, with fixed hours of meal and sleep will complete the treatment.

You've probably noticed that I haven't written anything about known drugs that make drunkards get drunk.
