Filipinos have a reputation for being excellent singers and musicians. And with that, many Filipinos saw their ability to sing as an opportunity to try and break into the music industry.

Nowadays, these new artists have elevated the OPM; numerous artists, from Moira Dela Torre to young artists like Adie, Arthur Nery, Zack Tabudlo, and many others, are now in the spotlight. Making their listeners feel broken, love, and all the other emotions that their song can react to.

Not only in the Philippines but around the world, Filipino music is making waves. Today's young performers have demonstrated tremendous potential, enthusiasm, and dedication. So, it should come as no surprise if Pinoy Music will expand abroad and carve out a niche for itself in the music industry.

Others may have misinterpreted PPop, Pinoy Pop as a knockoff or copycat of Kpop (Korean Pop), but they were mistaken. Modern PPop is a new avenue to Original Filipino music all over the world. Original Pinoy Music gave birth to Filipino Pop, a music genre, it is the roots and now, one of the ways to make it grow is to embrace their talents and passion.

However, due to the influence of Korean pop music, which was popular among the youth and young at heart. PPop, or Filipino pop music, is gaining popularity in the music industry. Several P-pop acts created waves not only in the Philippines but also around the world in 2021.

Evidently, Filipino artists are growing increasingly popular. SB19, a five-piece boy band formed in 2018, made history as the first Filipino artist to chart and debut on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart with their song “Bazinga”. They are regarded as a leading act in contemporary Pinoy pop.

In addition, after they made noise in today’s generation a lot of PPop was formed and gradually making Ppop be heard all over the world. Just a few rising Ppop stars are KAIA, VXON, and the group which was dubbed as the nation’s girl group BINI.

When we talk about global performers, many people think of one folk/pop band that is making waves all over the world, and that is Ben&Ben. This band had successful collaborations, both with local and international performers, such as Taiwanese artist Weibird.

Moreover, following requests from their respective fanbases, Ben&Ben collaborated with Young K after various K-pop stars listened to and reacted to 'Leaves' on their live streams. As a result, in 2020, 'Leaves' topped South Korea's Melon Real-Time Search Chart and is the most-streamed Filipino artist.

The Philippines is a music-loving nation, and OPM plays a significant role in driving that passion. The widespread popularity of OPM within the country and other parts of the world led to the greatest Filipino who really started the wave in the late 1970s.

Since then, Filipinos have been known globally. To prove, here are some songs that have caught the attention of foreigners and have had their own versions made in their own languages, "Anak'' by folk singer and composer Freddie Aguilar, "Together Forever" by Macho Gwapito Rico Jay Puno, and one of the famous singers for having a hit song Jose Marie Chan, "Beautiful Girl".

Both back then and now, Filipino music is making waves worldwide. Rising artists are giving Filipino music a fresh sound that will eventually help OPM gain full international recognition.

OPM is more than simply music; it is music with a soul that brings us together, frees the heart and soul, and in general opens new paths and expands our understanding of what it means to be a Filipino.
