All about Marijuana and Health.
Please note: this is a repost from my Medium page. It goes without saying that on January 6th, 2021, history was made in a most disturbing way. This rides on the coattails of what has been a very confusing and difficult year for most of us —but these are only some of the most recent triggers that you might be dealing with right now.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid that comes from the cannabis hemp plant. As CBD products are associated with marijuana, it’s important to note that the THC (the psychoactive component) is usually removed, therefore CBD doesn’t cause a high. Moreover, cannabidiol has lots of potential benefits for your wellbeing, from sleep to anxiety. Since the CBD market has grown, so have the options available. Consequently, an expanding market like this one brings complexities, and it can be hard to know what to buy.
For a long time, I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety and low self esteem. For years I received various diagnoses from psychiatrists and was put on medications such as lamotrogine, seroquel, lithium, and many more. Sometimes the medications would help with my symptoms for a little while, but eventually the side-effects would become unbearable. At that point I would switch to a different medication or come off of medication entirely, only to experience my usual symptoms again.
Marijuana. Pot, weed, indo, chronic, herb, bud. The list goes on and on and on. The bottom line is this: It fucking rocks.
My family moved to California from our comfortable, settled life in NJ to start my second company with my long-time business partner. For 10 years, she and I ran a very successful business together – until suddenly we were drowning. The business was a sinking ship that could not be saved.
Ahhhh, CBD. It's seemingly everywhere these days—on the shelves at grocery stores and pharmacies, added to your common every day items like skincare and lollipops, and even prominently featured on your mom's Instagram feed! However, with so much exposure for an ingredient that wasn't even on our radar 5 years ago, you also get a ton of misinformation. From brands proclaiming it to be a miracle cure-all to others who misstate the amount of CBD in their products, it can be a tough landscape to navigate.
Like most people in 2020, you have probably heard amazing things about Cannabinol (CBD) such as that the compound found in Hemp Cannabis as well as marijuana cannabis, has a myriad of health benefits. Every human, and many animals, have something called an endocannabinoid system in their body. I think a clear way to explain what this is, is to visualize an electrical wall outlet. To do its job, the outlet needs a plug. And the electrical outlet was an invention made to create a solution to- well you guessed it- transfer power. The human brain is similar in that we have a system set up in our bodies by something or someone (some say God, some evolution, and some say it’s all just by random chance), and this system is stimulated by the cannabinoids found in cannabis. In a way I guess you could say that consuming the plant is like “plugging in.” In my opinion, cannabis as a plant medicine just makes sense. Us and cannabis are like peanut butter and jelly!
With changes to the farm bill legislation, CBD and CBD products have been experiencing an explosion in the wellness niche.
FDA Approved Ways to Utilize CBD For Your Health While there are many producers of cannabidiol or CBD products that make claims to help with a variety of health concerns, the only FDA approved product that contains CBD is Epidiolex, a product that shows great promise as a treatment for serious seizure disorders.
From skincare to wellness you will find cannabis products for everything and these are popular because of the amazing natural benefits they offer. CB2 is hemp oil and it is a terpene blend in the base hemp oil. You will find terpene natural products with CBD because each terpene interacts with specific receptors in the brain to produce different effects.
There are several theories regarding the rise of autism spectrum disorders and while clinicians cannot say with certainty what is causing the increase, what is for sure is that the level of cases is rising. The proof is in the data. In 2017, the stats showed a rise of 30 percent in the US alone. That's 1 in 68 compared to the 1 in 88 noted back in 2008. Compared to the 1 in 150 in 2000, it is safe to say that autism rates have more than doubled in almost two decades.
