Popular cocktails made with vodka

Vodka can be distilled from almost anything but is mostly produced with cereal grains such as wheat or rye and fermenting potatoes. The spirit when the distillation process is done is at 95.6 percent and then diluted to around 50 percent with purified or spring water.

Three types of vodka on the market:

Plain vodka is high quality at 96.5% alcohol requiring only two ingredients ethanol and water.

Infused vodka includes fruit or herbs and is stronger in flavor with different colors and aromas.

Flavored vodka is a spirit flavored with anything imaginable among the more creative being chocolate, salted caramel, or bacon.

Top favorite brands include Kirkland Signature American, Smirnoff Nr 21, and Tito’s Handmade Vodkas (USA), Pinnacle Vodka distilled France, bottled USA, Stolichnaya Vodka Latvia, Absolute Vodka Sweden, Belvedere Vodka Poland, and Grey Goose Vodka France.

Usually ordering cocktails people choose to ask the bartender to use their favorite vodka. I used to enjoy cocktails with Absolute vodka among my favorites being a Martini so I ordered an Absolute Martini. Here are some of the top favorite cocktails made with vodka, Cheers!

Apple Martini is among the most popular fruit martinis and is also known as an Appletini. It is a mix of vodka, green apple schnapps or apple liqueur, and dry vermouth.

Bloody Mary is a classic Sunday brunch cocktail. It is a mix of vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, celery salt, and black pepper. It can be spiced up with some horseradish.

Campari Cocktail is made with vodka and Campari, a bitter aperitif.

Cape Codder is a refreshing cocktail prepared with vodka and cranberry juice.

Classic Mudslide is a grown-up milkshake. It includes vodka, Kahlua, Irish cream, and heavy cream or ice cream.

Cosmopolitan is the cocktail that gained popularity in the HBO series “Sex and the City”. It is a mix of vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice, and lime juice. Shaken and served in a martini glass.

Espresso Martini has a bit of sweetness and some bitterness. The cocktail is a mix of vodka, coffee liqueur like Kahlua, and a shot of cold espresso. White crème de cacao is an option that can be added.

French 76 is a classy cocktail prepared with vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and Champagne or other sparkling wine.

Madras is a fruity cocktail where vodka meets with sweet orange and tart cranberry juices. You can choose a regular vodka or a flavored vodka like citrus, raspberry, or cucumber.

Lemon Drop Martini is a popular cocktail with a sweet and tart taste. It is prepared with vodka, lemon juice, and a simple syrup or honey-type syrup.

Martini is prepared with vodka, dry vermouth, and bitters. It can have olives or cocktail onions in it.

Moscow Mule is an interesting cocktail with an unusual name. It is known to be drunk from a shiny copper mug but nothing wrong if you use a regular glass. The classic drink includes vodka and ginger beer. However, you can choose to have it with vodka and ginger ale.

Post Meridiem is a light and fizzy summer cocktail. It is a mix of vodka, Lillet Blanc a fortified wine, and club soda.

Screwdriver is a popular cocktail made with vodka and orange juice.

Sea Breeze is an interesting cocktail made with vodka, cranberry, and grapefruit juices.

Vodka Sour is a tart and tangy cocktail prepared with vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and egg white. The egg white gives it a foamy top.

Vodka Tonic is a refreshing cocktail with tonic water splashed into vodka.

White Russian is a three-ingredient cocktail prepared with vodka, coffee liqueur, and cream.

Zipper is a cocktail with an interesting name, It is a short drink with equal parts of vodka, Chambord (a black raspberry liqueur with a cognac base), and lemon-lime soda.
