I like to think of myself as a very prolific stoner. I love to get high, and I love to listen to music while I'm stoned. As both a connoisseur and a music aficionado, I've also learned that certain songs are definitely far better to listen to stoned than others.

Music can seriously enhance your stoner experience, and that's no joke. The most amazing thing about stoner songs is that you can match a good song to any situation out there, and it'll work wonderfully. Whether you're eating a Burnie Brownie or just taking yet another rip from your vape or bong, these are my picks for the best songs to listen to stoned.

For me, one of the best songs to listen to stoned is "Frankie Sinatra," by the avant garde turntable-list group, The Avalanches. The reason why? It's goofy as hell, and if you watch the music video, you also get some pretty trippy imagery to go along with the song.

This is the type of music you listen to when you're looking to get sloppy drunk, crazy high, and to act like a complete moron. And you know what? You can't get a better experience than that.

Jimi Hendrix is a legend for his drug use, and that's probably why he's one of the best musicians in history. He knew which strains of cannabis he enjoyed, loved to smoke, and was also very big into trying to make marijuana legal for all to enjoy.

"Purple Haze" is one of those legendary songs that immediately became a part of cannabis culture, and even today, remains one of the best songs to listen to stoned. Those guitar riffs! That voice! It's basically 60s stoner culture, all wrapped up into a nice, tiny song.

Ministry is one of those bands that everyone likes, but no one ever seems to admit to liking unless they're a goth. Maybe it's the rough metal edge, or just the weird synth kicks, or the lazy beat, but I've always thought that this was one of the best songs to listen to stoned.

This is the kind of music that you listen to when you want to smoke, sit down, and maybe just chill out with a friend or two over some food. It's bouncy enough to dance to, but at the same time, it's mellow enough to just pass a bong around to, as well.

Ever have a moment when you want to just smoke something, drink some bad-tasting cocktails, and just be ratchet? Snoop Dogg created the perfect sound track for those scenarios — and that's why "Gin & Juice" is one of the best songs to listen to stoned.

Yes, it's old school. Yes, you will feel like you're being hood in the middle of the streets of LA. And when you're high as a kite, what's better than that? We really couldn't tell you.

Here's another old school track that'll get you feeling nice when you're baked. "Atomic Dog" is as funky a track as you can get, and it's made by none other than the king of funk, George Clinton.

Fun choruses, a groovy beat, and that "need to get stoned to look this pimpin'," vibe is what makes this one of the best songs to listen to stoned.

This is definitely a song you'll want to get your groove back to. Ideally, you'd have one or two fly honeys smoking with you. But, if you don't, it's all good. You'll still feel amazing listening to this, either way.

"Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" is a classic track for getting wasted to. Dylan even tells you that everybody must get stoned in the track, and with the "drunk" sound of the song, you can tell this is one of those tracks meant for getting a bit sloppy with things.

While it might not be one of the best songs to listen to stoned for people who don't like the idea of feeling like a lazy couch potato, it's definitely a lot of fun if you're in the right mindset.

My friend, Chris-Slash-Carl, insists that this is one of the best songs to listen to stoned in the metal genre — and honestly, I can see why. It's got pretty engaging guitar riffs, a strong drum kick, and an overall very pensive vibe.

If you love listening to metal while getting a bit baked, then this is definitely one of the better songs to listen to while you're getting lit. (Does anyone else feel like growing their hair out all of a sudden?)

Butthole Surfers is always known for being a great band to listen to when on any substance. Why? Well, the lyrics alone tend to be a pretty good indicator why. The music is as trippy and psychedelic as alternative rock has gotten — and so are their music videos.

It's safe to say that they've made many of the best songs to listen to stoned, and that they're a must on any playlist made for stoners. (Don't believe it? Listen to "Who Was In My Room Last Night?" or "Shame of Life" to see what I mean.)

Say what you will about this guy, but he's got an amazing voice that meshes perfectly with a nice bong filled with green. If you're looking for something that's just a little bit sensual with a mellow, relaxed vibe, look no further than The Weeknd's smash hit, "Often."

Speaking from personal experience, this is one of the best songs to listen to stoned, while looking at a city skyline. It just sets the right mood, you know?

Back before the hippie movement, there were the beatniks and of the 40s and 50s. These are the guys who were hipsters before hipsters were a thing — and they included major names like Jack Kerouac, Billy Collins, and others names you studied in English 101.

It was a golden era for people who were artists that used. Seriously, many of the best books written by stoned authors originated as a result of this movement.

David Essex is one of those singers who totally brings out the sexy, alternative vibe of the beat movement, despite the fact that he was around 20 years too late. If you're a fan of coffee, beatnik vibes, and a good blunt, you will not be able to get enough of this song.

If you ask any fratboy or any high school student, they'll tell you that you need to listen to Oasis while high. It's a classic move that's just part of growing up in the UK or US school systems. Most of their songs were written while high, which in turn tends to make them the best songs to listen to stoned.

Truthfully, you don't have to be high on weed to enjoy an Oasis song like "Champagne Supernova." If we were really honest, they are some of the better songs to listen to highor sober. Oasis is that good a band.
