Your Eyes Spoke
A Poem of Inspiration
Your eyes spoke
More than words
Ever could
Of love and companion
The way your eyes
Turned fiery
When you saw
An injustice
Spoke of
Your passion.
Your eyes
Told the stories
Of bygone days
The way a photograph
Could turn your eyes
To a different time
A different place.
Your eyes spoke
When words wouldn’t
Of kindness, of compassion
Of Anger and hurt
Each emotion written
In your eyes
The way they
Glistened in joy
And when you
We’re laughing
The tears forming
When sorrow
Came an injustice
Someone else’s pain.
Your eyes
Spoke of beauty
Of grace
Of love
And compassion
And painted
In eyes
That laughed
And cried.
