It takes real grit to be a writer - a creator of stories.

Days when you don't feel like writing and would rather be doing anything else.

Times when you're lost, unsure what happens next

Thinking your story has finally hit that road block you couldn't get it out of.

You've got to be cutthroat to be a writer

Take criticism as it comes, the good and the bad.

You want to hear the praise and how good you are as a writer

The desire to see those five star reviews

Don't forget the critical, the feedback that's going to strengthen you.

That's a fire burning motivation for you, writer!

You have to be thick skinned and hard as nails to take it all in.

You have to be cutthroat to be a writer.

There will be days where you feel your writing sucks!

Where your characters fall flat.

Where every word typed is like pain

Improve your craft. Show them your stories can be better

But above all, prove it to yourself

Because at the end of the day, as tiring and maddening this writer's life is, every gritty painful ounce poured out is all worth it in the end.

So much truth in that. If there were an ACTUAL club...it would be overscribed. Therefore, we suffer through it in our respective geographical locations and write about it 😁 Congratulations on the top story! Congratulations Top Story-an!

This is a slam dunk of a win! Love this so much Jasmine and agree wholeheartedly with it! That final line is just epic! Well done and congrats on Top Story!

  • I envision my writing as a I have crossed over my writers block . Yes writing can be difficult for working on commission . At 74 I look back at my life and my careers one in nursing and one in the music and film industry in Los Angeles California and Austin Texas . I look at my odd jobs , side jobs to pay bills, etc . Work through my college years from the 1969 to 2001. There's so many cut throat people , back stabbers out there. All careers have the good, the bad, the ugly . I must have felt comfortable in the industry as I look back say despite the BS it was fun too. You are a good writer . Breathe in Breathe out slowly amiga
