You’re the Last Nugget in My Box

A Deep-Fried Love Story

By Tale WeaverPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Oh darling, my love, my crispy delight,

In a world full of sauces, you're my perfect bite.

Through thick and through thin, through hunger and strife,

I'd give you my last nugget—now that's real life.

_ _ _

Golden and warm, so tender, so true,

But no nugget compares to the warmth found in you.

As ketchup may swirl and sweet chili may call,

You’re the only dip that matters at all.

_ _ _

Others may hoard, may gobble, may munch,

But I save you the last, the best of my lunch.

For love isn't diamonds, nor riches, nor gold—

It's that one final bite, given before it gets cold.

_ _ _

So take it, my love, no need to discuss,

This nugget is yours—my heart, and my trust.

And though I may hunger, my stomach may ache,

You're worth every sacrifice… even my plate.
