Every day is the same day
The sun comes up and goes down again
The time in between
Makes us realize so many things again
And at times when you stay up all night
Doing the stuff you like or the ones you don’t
Makes you cry on some days and laugh on the others
It happens not just with you but to everyone too
Amongst all the things you do the whole day
The stargazing has it’s power in all
Just looking at the stars and looking only at stars
Feels something, something of an unexplainable kind
Go to the sea side or go on the roof
Just sit and stare the stars like you always do
All alone or with the one you want, forget everything
Stare them and smile at them you’ll be good you’ll all be good.

Reaching Out
I promise her. I'd do anything for her. She's my mom. Even as Lanie and Deanna are flying home, Mom is scrappy fighting dying. She lays too still in that too-big bed with all the toasty white hospital blankets, in the south tower, at the broad end of a long slow-turning corner that delivers me again to her private room with the view she can't see through, with the beeping that tells us nothing new, and all these ice chips she can't swallow, and a flood of well-intentioned nurses who cannot do a damned thing all the same.
