It is I once again, back for day 5!

I am still writing these, slowly but surely. :D I can't wait to have all 31 stories out for you guys!

Have fun guessing today's prompt!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When hurt has made an entrance into one’s life,
Another brick is added to an invisible wall.
.
Oftentimes, the layers and layers of bricks are needed. We need protection from the harsh realities of the world.
.
They can be put there by guardians, by friends, and by ourselves.
They are there to keep us from being hurt initially, and if we do get hurt, from being hurt again.
.
But sometimes, we stop construction on the wall.
We want to see if the things we experienced were actually harmful, or maybe they won’t be harmful this time.
.
Sometimes, it goes well. We’ve grown, others have grown, so more bricks aren’t needed.
.
But other times, more bricks should have been added.
.
The problem with this wall is, it keeps us in and others out.
We become secluded.
It’s lonely inside the wall.
.
But one day, the wall will be breached; this can happen one of two ways.
Either we will break out, or someone else will break in – many times, it will be the latter.
.
And it won’t be all of a sudden. The wall is going to be chipped away at, either from the inside or the outside - or maybe even a bit of both.
.
Slowly, but surely, the hole in the wall will grow bigger and bigger.
.
And one day, the light will come shining through, and those who care for you the most will be waiting for you on the other side.
Alright, what did y'all think? This one was more personal, so the format is less like a story and more like my thoughts dumping onto a page being mixed with slight poetics.
The prompt: Guard.
I hope you liked it, and I should have another story up soon!
