You Were My World

Worlds Ruin

Your eyes were emeralds once,

Glistening orbs I was captivated in.

Your kisses were rose petals,

Falling across soft lips.

I don't require gems nor flowers,

Shooting Stars nor constellations.

The very galaxies themselves you already gave me.

They danced with the butterflies in my stomach before every date,

And glittered in your eyes after our first kiss.

I was enamored by you.

All I wanted was for you to watch me grow,

My flower opening to the world.

But you left this world in ruin,

leaving me to chase a past that can never be.

A forgotten future, lost for eternity.
