Words

A to Zyzzyva

Words

All we have to explain

Ourselves to us

Us to ourselves

Words to describe

A universe undescribable

Words to enrich

Knowledge

Words of sorrow

Words of love

Words of joy

Words of pain

Words of description

Words of hatred

Vitriol

Lust

Jealousy

Anger

Spite

War

Just words...

Peace

Atonement

Acceptance

Reconciliation

Truce

Just words...

Mankind uses too many words

Sometimes nonverbal is best

Communication without words

Stroke

Kiss

Touch

Clasp

Hug

Gaze

Smile

Let your soul talk

As your tongue stills

Stop

Listen...

Hearbeats

Breath

Wind

Birds

Rustling trees

Grass growing

Flowers opening

Ciccadas singing

Bullfrogs croaking

Waves crashing

Rain pattering...

A symphony

Too often lost neath the babble

A musical crescendo

Of glorious sound

To draw us in

An orchestra

Playing our song

If only we would stop spouting words

And listen to what is being said

Listen for the susurrus

Live in the moment

***********************************

Susurrus: a low, soft, rustling, whispering or humming sound, such as might be made by the wind in trees or grasses, snakes, bees, or people speaking quietly to one another in number
