Wonder

Up late...

Sipping this Kentucky bourbon on a night like this.

I can’t help but to reminisce.

The kisses we use to share felt like the 4th of July.

Fireworks and smoke dissipating above us

Occasional flames that needed to be tamed.

It’s not something that I wanted to dismiss.

A guilty pleasure of mine.

You were a book with never ending chapters.

I was not allowed to peruse through your pages.

Metaphorically I was able.

But in actuality, the lock and key you held,

Led to an unopened book.

What do you do when you’ve messed up one too many times.

To a woman who’s heart just wanted change, love and trust to be evident to the eye.

I can only wonder about what was on the other side...

On the other side, this whole time because my significant other wouldn’t approve of this curiosity that has lain dormant within my mind.

Curiosity can be a devil...

Don’t let your mind wonder.
