It happened one Spring


And I was scared to let go


So used to being single


I’m better off alone



But you broke down my walls


And showed me something I didn’t know was there



That I could fall in love


All I needed was someone who truly cared



So it made no sense


That day I got your call


Saying you had strayed


Like I meant nothing at all



So safe


So confident



That’s the way you made me feel



But our castle came crashing down


As if none of it was ever real



The shock, the anger


The disbelief welling up inside



My first love ended in heartbreak


And I wish I never tried...
